that's well over 500 ft lbs, and the same recoil as a 9 makarov, since the Mak is straight blowback and the 9mm is a delayed blowback. that softens perceived recoil a bit. recoil is just momentum, mass x velocity, 45 at 2300 is the same thing as 230 grs at 450 fps, recoil wise, or the same a 90 grs at 1150 fps, or 115 grs at 900 fps. A very mild 9mm load, but energy is the SQUARE of velocity x mass (ie, bullet weight)
THV Arcane and MagSafe both offered such 9mm loads commercially. the THV had importation stopped because it pierces Kevlar vests. Mag Safe stopped cause its inventor and CEO was killed in a motorcycle crash. Both worked extremely well on animals.
You can melt the lead core out of 115 gr jhp's, replace the lead with epoxy, and use LOTS of alliant Bullseye powder to drive the resulting 40 gr bullet well over 2000 fps. Less charge weight or any other choice of powder, (other than that pulled from .22lr or .22 blanks) wont even work the action, with the case full of powder. Other powders are not double base (ie, have no nitroglycerin in them) so they lack the "octane" to move the slide normally, given such a very lw bullet. But a re-conditioned chronograph is $100 from Shooting Chrony and you can prove to yourself that these velocities are real and that such loads wont harm your pistol.

not if you can reliably get the hits. Do you know how unreliable arrows are? most hits are poor hits, cause the animals "jump the string", or see you, or the archer is just piss poor at what he's trying to do. Top hands with rifles can toss up aspirins and reliably hit them in midair. If you can't hit the brain, you dont belong in the gamefields, cause you're an inept slob. stop gut shooting animals and having them suffer for minutes before they die. Get close enough to make such shots, or dont fire. Nobody in the lower 48 states has to hunt. Since it's all for sport, just do without, until you can stalk properly and kill cleanly.

if they are not loaded and to hand, they aint available at ALL, in time to do you any good. So why bother with them at all? Shit goes down in mere seconds, that's the facts of such matters.
