Saturday night I get a call from my mom, telling me that my sister tested positive for COVID when she did a rapid test for her second shift after going back to her job at an old age home.(!!!!) My sister lives on a farm with her boyfriend and is isolated so she checks in on my elderly parents all the time and she was over there on Friday night when my daughter was having a sleepover. Fuck me!

My sister said that the nurse at work told her that they've been getting a lot of false positives, so they did a proper nose swab and sent her test off but she won't know for two days. I book tests for my daughter and me yesterday and we go down to the hospital and get our noses swabbed and we have to wait 24-48 hours to get our results. I've been losing my mind for 2 days worried about my parents and also going through all the repercussions if we find out my daughter has been exposed. Calling her school (her entire class and teachers having to quarantine). Having to call all her friends parents. Basically looking like the fucking idiot who brought the only case of COVID into our biosphere and on top of it when people are just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Literally 5 minutes ago my sister called, I see her number pop up and I'm scared shitless, she got her test back and she's NEGATIVE! I'm fucking high on a surge of relief.
