Just read Bozo fired the Health Minister. What are reactions on the ground
@regular john
This was strongly rumored yesterday throughout the day but by early evening it was confirmed that he would stay. Official story is that army people and Congress pressure swayed Bozo. According to public opinion polls since the pandemic kicked off Bozo's popularity has been decreasing from +50% to 40% to ~24% iirc while Health Minister's is at +70%. Health professionals and Ministry bureaucrats are strongly supporting him and apparently many threatened to leave with him if he was fired.
The Minister is nothing special though. The man is a conservative affilialted with the Democrats Party which is the remains of the Liberal Front Party, former impeached President Collor's party which opened the country for financism in the early 90's and has historically opposed affirmative action policy - not that people can't be conservatives (they shouldn't) but being a corporate conservative in the most unjust country in the world is next level perversity. But when your foe is Bozo it is remarkably easy to come out the most reasonable, level headed guy.
Health Minister has been simply following World Health Organization guidelines while Bozo is championing for the end of social isolation. he has been unable to say one strong word even after Bozo went on national TV mocking the pandemics, calling it a "little cold". last night he gave a press conference admitting he's being bullied by Bozo and that yesterday was a lost day of work due to the pressure.
