I believe he is “thanked” and has his ass kisses the way anyone who has that much power in Hollywood does. It doesn’t mean he is liked or respected. He’s probably feared and can still probably hurt careers. It might be cowardice keeping people from going after him early on but I don’t think it’s right/left politics. I think people will start piling on now that it’s started.
It's political because apparently it was an open secret about how disgusting Weinstein is and all these virtue signaling liberal celebs had no problem keeping their mouth shut and working with him. Meryl Streep has no problem thanking him and calling him God. A woman that also gave a standing applause to a rapist. Or there's Rose McGowan who is mentioned in the article. A woman that likes to spend her time speaking out on women's issues on Twitter but had no problem making a movie with a convicted child molester. They're all hypocrites. If Weinstein had been a big donor to Republicans instead of Democrats, Colbert would taken to Twitter to rip him and you know it.
You have a point. I agree that it’s cowardice, and hypocritical. (If they knew). But you see this type of cowardly, self serving, careerism on both sides. Like the “family values” republicans endorsing an admitted sexual assaulter who has been accused of sexual assault by at least 15 women for president.

I sort of chalk it up to someone they know or at least have met on occasion and it's kind of a WTF moment trying to comprehend that someone they thought they knew, was someone else. It's easy to jump out of the gate being critical of someone you don't know, but completely different, like I mentioned, when it's someone know. I don't for a minute think they deep down are gonna give a guy a pass for acting like that creep, but the same reason many of those close to Ailes and other FOX creeps did. I didn't think their quietness meant approval at all either.
Either way, all these creeps need professional help and I'd be perfectly okay if they never worked in their respective industries again.
