Spanberger is right. She almost lost to a tool of a human, but a solid conservative. And holy shit did they spend a ton of money attacking her. There are an additional 10 million voting eligible persons in the United States in 2020 versus 2008.
Thinking it's weird that a future candidate got more votes than an old candidate it's like the people bragging about getting the most votes ever. The population keeps growing. That's not much of an accomplishment.

I saw some people on Twitter talking about their state doing a similar thing. Apparently when you do a mail in ballot many states have a record so you can see that it was received and if it was accepted or rejected.
If there was a signature question, this could be handled by coming in and showing ID and correcting it. Or you could call and do a series of identity verification questions and verify your ballot.
