There's a lot of stupid narratives floating around about some videos of individual incidents with cops letting protesters in.
The problem was the lack of available manpower and clearly a culture among cops of being Trump bootlickers, which made them collectively less likely to oppose the rioters. But they were also plainly overwhelmed. In some of these videos people are going 'why isn't the cop doing anything?'
Maybe because in some of those videos there's like 6 cops in the vicinity and fucking 5000 rioters surrounding them, and the cops realize they could be killed in an instant if they antagonized the mob. If you're the cop you don't know the mob is going to murder you in that situation, but you do know that it would take them all of 5 seconds to do it if they wanted to.
