Looks like thats vote for taking a Centrist position.
I find lambs position of being against more gun laws outside of fixing the background check system interesting in today's climate.

Are things like assault weapons ban a loser for Democrats?

Don't worry about Texas, your bros got your back with attempts to cause rifts in the Democrats.
Did Russian trolls try to register for a Texas Democratic convention?

edit:
It's interesting how the GOP called Lamb an extreme liberal before the election, but now afterwards they say he ran as a conservative. The Democrats currently have a centrist platform, fiscally conservative and socially liberal. There has been some pull towards a progressive populist direction, but that has not taken over.

Before:

After:
"Lamb ran as a 'conservative'" -Paul Ryan

“The young man last night that ran, he said, ‘Oh, I’m like Trump. Second Amendment, everything. I love the tax cuts, everything.’ He ran on that basis,” Trump said Wednesday night at a private fundraiser. “He ran on a campaign that said very nice things about me. I said, ‘Is he a Republican? He sounds like a Republican to me.'" -Trump

Reality:
Lamb ran as a conservative Democrat, but that is far from being what is currently known as a "conservative".
  • Lamb wants to keep the Affordable Care Act in place. His opponent, Rick Saccone, wants it repealed.
  • Lamb blasted the GOP tax plan as “giveaway” to the rich. His opponent supports the plan.
  • Lamb said that he personally opposes abortion but that he doesn't think the right to have one should be taken away. His opponent flatly opposes abortion rights.
  • Lamb wants to strengthen background checks for gun sales, although he doesn't think there should be new restrictions on guns.
  • Lamb supports Trump's tariffs on steel and aluminum, even though GOP leaders including Ryan oppose them.
GOP-related groups donated $10.7 million, while outside spending for Lamb only hit $2.6 million for this campaign. Lamb did raise more campaign funds than Saccone, but when tallied together, Saccone spent ~$11 million, while Lamb only spent ~$5 million. Lamb spent half the amount of money as his opponent, and still overcame the 20 point gap that Trump achieved in 2016.

most democrats are centrists while most republicans are fiscally conservative.. the whole notion that dems are full of tofu eating gay hippies and republicans are a bunch of nazi bible thumping wanna be russian farmers is a pretty recent development.. which shows the influence of digital media rather than the old school thought of nation above politics..

Most democrat and republican voters are centrists. The diehards are hippies and Nazis, respectively. None of them are fiscally conservative.

You seem to be right in recent elections...

Democratic Party’s liberal insurgency hits a wall in Midwest primaries

Candidates backed by Emily’s List, which endorses women and sometimes clashes with the left, bested left-wing challengers in three southeast Michigan districts; at least two are seen as toss-ups in November. Early Tuesday evening, just one Sanders-backed candidate in a competitive primary was in the lead; Brent Welder, a labor lawyer running in Kansas’s 3rd Congressional District, benefited from a crowd of five less-liberal candidates who split the vote.

“This is a fantastic night for centrist Democrats,” said Jim Kessler, senior vice president for policy at the center-left Third Way think tank. “We nominated the right candidates who can win House seats and governor’s mansions for the Democratic Party. There’s a quiet enthusiasm in the middle. There’s a quiet voice that people are not hearing in the media, but it’s loud at the ballot box.”

Platitude.
Platitude.
Platitude.
Do you really think that the Democratic party has not been saying those things?

Lost the House.
Lost the Governors. Lost some more governors.

Lost the Senate.
Lost the presidency.

Democrats need a face like Chris Cuomo. Well known, knows how to talk and sell progressive excuses.
