It's been dipping into the high 60s (~20 C) here in FL which means it's almost time for a jacket. I wouldn't make it very long in a Canadian winter.

I went to San Francisco in August. It was 75F as a high and 50s at night. The locals told me about how "today was gonna be the hottest, all the clouds have burnt away". I laughed and proceeded to get a sunburn after walking for hours outside due to the beautiful cool weather.

Roberta Laundrie on Aug. 24 initially made reservations for two people to camp at Soto Park Campground in Saint Petersberg between Sept. 1-3, about 75 miles north of the family’s home in North Port, but she canceled those reservations on Aug. 31.
On Sept. 3, she made a new reservation for three people to camp on the weekend of Sept. 6-8. Other documents obtained by Fox News show the Laundries checked in to the campground on Sept. 6 and checked out on Sept. 8.

When I was on the AT last week there was plenty of talk about this dude since that's one of the rumors of where he is.
People think that when you are on the AT you are isolated. You are to a point, but you see other hikers all the time. Sometimes you nod and keep rolling. Sometimes you chat them up. And there is a town about every 50 miles or so.
If someone thought they saw this dude, word would travel fast.
