I decided to take this advice even though 99% of what you say is retarded.I just got “Crave TV” it’s 99 bucks for a year. Buy it you cheapskate.
That was the consensus at our watch party as well.Ok I'll say it. The season premier wasn't great
As I said, it was written by Dan and Dave's errand boy.Ok I'll say it. The season premier wasn't great
It won't be. Episode 3 is when it actually starts.First episode was solid, but left feeling flat. It looks like episode 2 will be epic though.
Episodes 1-3 are around 55-58 minutes. The last 3 are 1 hour and 20 minutes is what I read.first episode not very interesting, but ok.
56 minutes per episode? 120 minutes per episodes were announced.
ok, i'm waiting for what's next.
Well that's disappointing. As I said, it was written by Dan and Dave's errand boy.
Unfortunately episode 2 is written by another former errand boy, and the worst writer on the show, so we will have to suffer through it too. It's nice of them to give their little nerdy buddies jobs, but it fucks us as the audience.
Basically episodes 1 and 2 are guaranteed to be shit because they are just used as boring set ups for the battle in episode 3.
Lucky they've got the best battle director for both battle episodes, so they should still be awesome.
Sam learning of his father's death. And handling it well enough. Then hearing of his brothers and having to hold back the emotions was the highlight of the episode for me. Great job in that scene.Despite it being a not-so-great episode last night, there were a few good moments:

Yeah, Dany would have been the first person to stop a non-Targaryen from attempting to ride a dragon. She knows the rules and would have been like: "You must be this tall to ride this ride."Jon rides dragon. Dragon lets Jon ride it. No one questions how that's even possible without Jon having dragon blood/being a Targaryen?
You type this while eating Cheerios in your infant iron throne?I don’t know what people were expecting from the first episode. The show hasn’t been on the air in almost 2 years, and got about 30 active characters/storylines.
This episode has to function almost like a recap so of course it’s going to be a bit clunky. It’s also why the writing is going to be a bit wooden. They have to use each exchange to remind the audience a) who is speaking b) what their relational dynamic is to the person they are speaking to and c) what their motivation is.
Of course they can’t shoehorn all of this in but they still have to cram in as much exposition as they can and still try to keep the dialogue as natural sounding as they can. That’s why you get a lot of lines like “Oh hello Lord So and So, I haven’t seen you since the Battle of....”
This show would be a nightmare to write and I think they did a great job.
On top of this they have to try to keep two sets of fan bases happy, The hardcores who know the books/characters who want all storylines addressed and the casuals who just don’t want to get lost in the storylines and characters. The show could easily cut bait, go Hollywood and simplify the show focussing on the Stark’s , Lancaster’s and Daenarys, but then they would alienate there fan base who want to know what becomes of all the Littefingers and other side characters.
Enjoy the show and stop looking up it’s ass with a microscope. It’s not high art but it’s entertaining as hell and they are attempting to pull of something pretty incredible.
Great post man. Seriously.Well that's disappointing.
Despite it being a not-so-great episode last night, there were a few good moments:
1. Bran telling Sam he was "waiting for an old friend" and then sitting outside in a wheelchair for what seemed to be all night just so he could make eye contact with Jaime.
2. Sansa: "What do dragons eat anyway?"
Daenerys: "Whatever they want."
3. I like the realness in Sam not even trying to pretend that he didn't think Daenerys was a monster.
4. Yara's rescue scene was pretty cool.
5. The scene at Last Hearth was pretty badass. No dead bodies because that's not how the Army of the Dead rolls.
But most of the scenes weren't great. Euron banging Cersei was confusing - did she enjoy it or not? Does she even know?
Also I'm not sure what Tyrion and Varys are even doing in Winterfell as they got fuck all done last night. Tyrion is proving to be the most inept Hand eva. If not for Jaime's arrival and reveal next week Tyrion would still be waiting at the top of Winterfell's southern gates looking out for the Lannister army.
And I sure hope Jon stops giving a fuck that his father lied to him blah blah blah. He was pretty practical when it came to the 7-year-old questioning his title, let's hope he stays that way. No one cares that you're the real heir and that you banged your aunt at least twice. There's an army of dead men coming.

It's literally a recap from the Reddit comments page.Great post man. Seriously.
Why doesn’t this surprise me.It's literally a recap from the Reddit comments page.
My connection with this show is the same as a psycho who fantasizes about murdering his ex-girlfriend while spending every day stalking her new boyfriends on Facebook and then crying himself to sleep softly whispering "Mary" (Mary is my mother's name, to add an extra layer of fucked-up-ness to the analogy). I hate it but I watch and I look shit up about it.Well that's disappointing.
