I will pick one point of contention - I could pick a thousand.

The Sam-Daenerys shit is retarded on so many levels. Contrived to the point that it is ridiculous - this is all the show is now, ridiculous contrivance on top of ridiculous contrivance.

Sam's dad was a Targaryen loyalist. He betrayed his lord because a 'foreign whore' was invading, even though it was a fucking Targaryen that he fought for. Insane, unforgivable contrivance to start with.

The show made a point of this being a feudal society where even knights stealing a ham means death.

Sam's dad was literally a traitor on several levels and then a vanquished foe who refused to surrender. And his son with him. Of course they had to die.

Which brings me to your point of liking Sam not pretending to like Daenerys. Sure that's logical.

But the ridiculous part is the logic in the conversation with Jon Snow. At least the secretary writer was aware how of ridiculous it was, because they tried to explain away the insanity.

"She killed my dad because he refused to obey"

"I've killed people because they refuse to obey"

"Yes, but here's a non-sequitor - you also didn't kill people in entirely different circumstances"

"Good point"

So fucking shit. It's honestly worse writing than you will find on most soap operas.

There is something that I just don’t get. Everyone says only a Targerian can ride a dragon, but what about when the Danerious and the dragons saved the guys north of the wall? They all rode dragons.

Yeah. I’m trying out the Crave/HBO thing. It’s 20 bucks a month. Haven’t explored it yet, but they have all those great HBO documentaries so I’m excited about it.

My wife and I both think it was pure intuition on Dany's part - she could sense that the dragons were calm around Jon and thus Rhaegal wouldn't have a problem with Jon riding him.

But that is a very stupid premise on which to make such a serious decision in not only not stopping Jon but encouraging him.

Saying "oh well if the dragon kills you then it was nice knowing you" is even stupider.

She risked the most important person in the fucking show because she wanted to look cute.

I mean for fuck's sake.

Yeah but they were just passengers. Dany was the only true dragon rider.

Also the reason Jon didn't get on Drogon in that episode is that a Targaryen can't ride two different dragons. It was a set-up for him being able to ride Rhaegal.
