Yeah but still took that belt.
Gifted a title shot in a weight class he never fought in against the weakest champion around... but yeah let’s pretend getting the belt against bisping would be equivalent to him taking Silva on in their primes and winning.... even though it’s not. he avoided Silva and he’s trying to avoid Whittaker now

I was referring to Bisping.

And fuck Anderson Silva. GOAT cheater.

I am glad these fighters are trolling Dana. If anything, GSP has a score to settle, and nothing left to prove. GSP is the GOAT, he never had a reason to fight Anderson because he always had a line of killers ready to fight him. If GSP after a fight decides the weight class isnt for him, then let him fight 170, it is his career.

LAS VEGAS – If Georges St-Pierre doesn’t stay in the middleweight division to unify his championship, UFC President Dana White will not be happy – and that’s putting it mildly.

In fact, the mere mention of St-Pierre (26-2 MMA, 20-2 UFC) potentially going back on his word brings White’s blood to a simmer.

“I don’t want to hear that,” White said during a media luncheon Tuesday at UFC headquarters. “That’s not what I want to hear. I want to hear he’s going to defend his 185-pound title. That’s the agreement we made. That’s the deal we made when we made the deal (for him to come back).”

I'll just beat this pulverized horse yet AGAIN...a real rankings system and an automatic method of determining matchups based on those rankings would eliminate 98% of these stupid dilemmas. This playing-it-by-ear bullshit has worn so goddamn thin at this point. An automated system would determine EXACTLY the consequences for every result, including non-activity and refusals to defend a belt. But I can see why Dana and WME wouldn't want such a thing. An algorithm, being close to politically neutral, would eliminate hypocrisy by preventing the very possibility of a shit-list.

We can only dream, brother!

If it’s in his contract to unify the belt and he signed it, he should follow through. Using leverage to get out of it (him being the biggest star currently fighting) is kind of annoying

I hope he retires right now.

GSP is his own man, not a slave on Dana's plantation. If he doesn't want to fight anymore he doesn't have to.

GSP should ask for double his last purse to unify the titles, and if Dana doesn't agree GSP should take the MW belt over to Bellator and throw it in the trash live on TV ala Medusa

“St-Pierre also reiterated a line he repeated often in the lead-up to UFC 217: That it was written in his contract that he had to fight Whittaker next”
Yeah but that means if he fights again, it has to be against Whittaker. He could just retire.

First off, this could be a negotiating tactic. GSP, like everyone else, knows UFC sold for $4B & they're short on superstars. There are a few possibilities: GSP's trying to get more $$$ for a risky fight against Whittaker. Maybe he's chasing the biggest payday of his career against Conor. Or, middleweight was always meant to be a 1-time deal with a favorable match-up & he always planned to go back down to 170.

Although most of us would favor Whittaker, I wouldn't be so quick to count out GSP. A lot of us thought Bisping would win & expected GSP to lose, especially after a 4 year absence. Whittaker would be a tough fight, but with GSP's wrestling & ground game, a win is in the realm of possibility. I don't think he's scared of Bobby Kunckles, but he does know it's a risky match up.

And as much as I love Whittaker, the UFC hasn't done shit to promote him. Can't understand why. He's a good looking dude who speaks English. He seems friendly as fuck & comes off as a 'bow to your Sensei' kind of guy.

If the idiots at WME had any sense, they would abandon the whole trash-talking thing Conor, Bisping, Cody, & Joanna brought to the table. They have stoic, respectful champs & contenders like Whittaker, Stipe, Rose, GSP, Ngannou, Holly, etc. Try promoting fighters who are respectful rather than just pushing the loudmouths & pretty blondes.

As for BLAF, fuck him & fuck WME. That's what happens when you have no imagination & chase short term gains. They let Conor & Bisping pick their own fights, now other champs want to play the same game. They put all their eggs in a big blonde basket, & it backfired.

BLAF let Conor fight for the lightweight belt without ever defending his featherweight title. Now he wants to cry about GSP pulling the same shit? Fuck you, fuckface. You reap what you sow.

If it's a verbal agreement... which I am thinking it was...

Let the man rumble... he didn't fuck the sport up, he brought it up on his back.

Not hating on the little man. But GSP is the GOAT, I'll put the Dom before MM if we talk about little guys.
Fair enough but I put him above Dom...Dom beating MM is like bones in the LHW division IMO... plus I think them fighting again would be interesting.

MM really has honed his style the past couple years.

one look at Cejudo's hair and you know that division is stacked.
Cejudo was a good shake up for the division but unfortunately it was a dud. I like Benavidez as well, but the rest is really fodder from another mother.

Most of the 125 savages are in jail... small man syndrome etc...

It's a shame.
