I remember as a small kid watching movies like Karate Kid, Encino Man and many others and always thinking omg how beautiful is California, its like what I would imagine Disney World would be.
As an adult, and watching Cobra Kai I realize a lot of those areas have gone to absolute shit in just a few decades.
It is the equivalent of Acapulco in Mexico, growing up El Chavo del Ocho went on vacation to Acapulco, nowadays it is to be avoided because cartel activity is so heavy and nobody gives a shit about that place now that most tourists dont go there so if you get in trouble chances are you are not getting out.
