I think that is accurate for Superman. But in this movie he was losing a lot until her seemingly and arbitrarily decided to fight for real. His prison cell scene is maybe the only exception to this I recall. Otherwise he's just not being Superman a lot of the time.Maybe I'm wrong. But I didn't think Superman was powered down so much as he was always holding back. The few times he really let loose he seemed pretty powerful.
I feel like I'm in a different reality where people have morality for like 2 weeks.so are we back to pretending james gunn isnt a pedophile again ?
I pirated it if it makes you feel better.I feel like I'm in a different reality where people have morality for like 2 weeks.
Like they need a bumper sticker.
"Never Forget".
Fuck that.
Fuck Netflix, Amazon, Bryan Singer & James fucking Gunn.

I'm hazy on it. Said something on Twitter I think? I can't remember. What did he do? I don't know this story.
He openly & routinely spoke aggressively about sexual assault on minors through social media with insiders. What did he do? I don't know this story.
I think the fact of the matter is, the power is ludicrously obviously with the elite worldwide who are living seemingly untouchable lives all doing the same disgusting shit at different levels with varied degraded preferences.Holy shit...I didn't know any of that.
Bautista doing that doesn't surprise me, though. Having his T levels jacked from years of abusing PEDs must have swung the pendulum hard the other way with seriously high estrogen levels, because the dude is a raging twink, now. Good grief.
If anything, that fake poster helped his movie a lot... until the news of him suing over it, that might do damage to the box office now.LOl, the superman estate is suing Gunn and Gunn is suing Trump, Bizarro world.

Of course that stupid faggot Dave Bautista would defend another sicko like him lol...He openly & routinely spoke aggressively about sexual assault on minors through social media with insiders.
He got called out, fired by Disney.
Dave Bautista & others fired back and got Pedo Disney to re-hire pedo Gunn.
Now Gunn's back in the good graces of a public who forgot he clearly fucks boys, because he throws digital paint cans on blue light screens.
re your spoiler:Saw this yesterday. It was ok. I kind of like a non-omnipotent version of the character, but agree with others that his powers seemed to wax and wane through the movie.
So was the creature that the Justice Bunch fought while Superman sulked a self-referential nod Gunn threw into the movie? It looked a lot like that thing that Star Lord, Rocket, Baby Groot, et al. fight over the opening credits to GOTG2.
Already don’t like his take on Supergirl. She’s cute but the whole party girl thing is a put-off. If there’s a precedent for it in the comics I’m not aware of it, but also never read any of those, only saw her when she was a character in something else.
It feels outdated. Ten years ago you could have done this and it wouldn't have been a big deal. The girl boss days are in twilight. The girl boss who brings nothing to the table, over with.re your spoiler:
I'm pretty sure there is precedent for it based on reviews & such I've seen. That said, I had the same gut reaction as you when I first heard that's what they were doing & felt like a lot of non hardcore comic readers' reactions would be along the lines of, "uhhh....lolwut?"
So I'm guessing you're likely not alone in that regard.
I was once a hardcore comics reader, but that ended over 50 years ago for me. I think about 10th grade when I got a drivers license and could legally operate cars and motorcycles and chase poon at my own discretion. LOLre your spoiler:

"Alien"Agree with all of this.
I was kinda "meh", honestly. It doesn't really set anything up aside from just a few lines of text at the beginning of the movie, then just starts. It felt like walking into a movie 20 minutes after it started and you were trying to catch up to what was going on. Thing is, then I looked down, realized an hour had passed, and I was still kinda trying to catch up.
Hard to explain.
I'll agree with the woke elements. I saw something about how Gunn had Supes call himself and "immigrant" and that made me seriously groan. Except, unless I completely missed it during the big monologue...it didn't happen. Supes never called himself an "immigrant".
The twist on who Ultraman ended up being could be seen a mile away...or at least, I did. Not too tough to figure out.
There were obvious parallels with Russia / Ukraine and certain famous corporate leaders, but it wasn't as insufferable as you'd think it might be.
Supes having his ass handed to him for the majority of the movie was a bit much, though. Except for very extreme situations, Superman is supposed to be the ultra boy scout good guy - that's his gimmick...not being an underdog. And that's how he was portrayed in most of the movie.
I saw where someone described it as the third movie in a trilogy that they missed parts 1 and 2 of. It did kind of have that feel to it.Agree with all of this.

Yeah but how does he go undefeated for years on end, lose once and for the first time, and then just fall apart and continue to lose for the majority of the rest of the movie. Superman is the apex superhero, he is above all. Outside of some insane Marvel celestials, he would smash the entire Marvel and DC roster, certainly true of any Marvel character on film. But now he gets beat up. Even a clone would be a lesser being and unable to handle the one who is the source of the power they share.I saw where someone described it as the third movie in a trilogy that they missed parts 1 and 2 of. I agree that the people who said it was “woke” were looking for a reason to hate it.
I felt the underdog aspect s was explained in the opening text that explains he just got his ass kicked for the first time, so he’s facing his first self doubt. In all the movies he’s beaten down at some point and has to struggle back. This movie just led with that and made it the main plot rather than the setup for the climax.
