Not the way one of the best fighter should lose his strap, but it was the right decision by Zuffa.

Champions should have some integrity.

Idk who to root for. I like DC and Rumble both. Maybe I'll lean DC since he's older and his window is closing

Old video of Dana making sense. Gets good at the 3:00 mark. This is from 2011 after he beat Shogun.

Its just a PR move. He will be fighting the winner of DC vs AJ by the end of the year.

Thats good they did that. They were becoming enablers. Jones kept messing up knowing the UFC high powered lawyers would bail him out and that he would simply fight again make more money and buy more drugs.

The suspension should be a few years... if it just a few months thats the normal wait around time for fighters for their next match.

In my heart of hearts I really thought they would downplay, postpone and weasel through this. I figured some kind of real penalties but only after 187. I guess I wasn't thinking about Reebok and other sponsor pressure.

the other thing is, they are charges, not a conviction.............sorry, but innocent until proven guilty, but he does need a wake up call if this is all true............

Oh, there's still weaseling in the future, I'm sure. I guess we'll see. The short term seems like hard ball but in a way this is just rearranging the sequence of what were inevitable fights. When Jones gets around to fighting for his title again, he'll probably still have to fight AJ and rematch DC, both fights that would have happened had this FUBAR situation not occurred. So, it'll be the same fights, but Jones won't have the title going into the title match, whoever that ends up being against.

The big question for me is how Jones will handle sobriety and walking the straight line. It can very well fuck him up as far as fighting is concerned. Without that comfort of escapes and pleasures, also the sinister power one is liable to gather from being a bad boy, his vaunted mental strength just might collapse. Doubts can creep in, and his conscience might bother him. You know, if he actually has to go straight. This does sound like a genuine wake up call though.

Basically, this. How they shuffle the pieces in the 2015 timeline doesn't matter so much, when you really think about it. You still have Jones, AJ, DC, and a rematch with Gus might be in order too. I'm just wondering how this will affect Jon's mental outlook. A decade of partying and a fuck-it attitude isn't so easy to undo. I should know.
