Same as me ha. Mine has the 3.3 in it. 75k miles though.
We went with the coyote 5.0 because of possible plowing at the cabin, still never seen a plow on it lol

I drive a 1972 Chevelle 454 SS. Almost 10k miles on the new motor. I don't go to the office much, and when I do it's 5 miles away so no real issues with impracticality. It's more like riding a horse than driving a car.

Wife drives a 2023 Mercedes Benz GLB. Fully loaded and a lot of fun, it's tight, fast, and engineered with precision. Like my wife.

I’m with the german engineering crowd here. I have a 2017 Porsche 718S for summer and a BMW X3M40 for winter. No idea about reliability as I change cars every two years or so. I never do anything except regular maintenance.

I drive one of these in a different color, 5.7L 4x4 custom order long bed

Or this one from 2000, a 4.0L 4x4 that I tore all the carpet out of because the door/window seals were shot

We also have an old Subaru outback but I don't drive that one

I've had maybe a dozen Audis, from top to bottom, over the years. Loved them, but when automatic transmissions became the only option and touch screens and push button e-brakes crept in, I bowed out. In fact I have pretty stopped giving a shit about 99.9% of new cars. Now I'm down to an '01 Tacoma and a '90 240sx.

'83 Quattro, '01 S4, '03 RS6.

Nice fleet you have there bud. I love that old Quattro. Yeah, the electronics in these cars scares the shit out of me. Something goes out after warranty, break out $2000 minimum.

My last car was a 3 door A3. The insurance and tax ran out on the street so they towed it away. Then billed me. I told them to get fucked and keep it I don't care.

About 3 years now

what does that mean?

Appreciate this write up. Looking at Tundra's for me. You're right, they sure do hold their resale value because man they're expensive lol. The only thing I dont really like about Toyota's is they haven't done much to make the interiors 'nicer'.
I have a 21 tundra and my wife had a 23 tacoma. Both great trucks

In UK you have to have road tax. I left the car on the street instead of my driveway and the filth snatched it. So I told them to fuck off

Is it naive to think a Toyota Tundra will get to 200k miles without too many issues? Because with my budget of $35k, I'm gonna have to get one that has a minimum 75k miles on it.

Just buy a normal car. The ready of the world don't use pickup trucks . If you wanna move stuff everyday then just become a jippo.

I can only speak to pre 2022 Tundra
Don't get the latest version, they are working out a serious issue with the engines

Yes, 200K is easy if regular maintenance is done. I would want one with some sort of service records or something to verify what has been done and when.
The old 5.7L gets poor gas mileage if you care, I average 12.5 mpg towing with a light trailer, 10 with heavy trailer, and 16-17 on freeway with no trailer. For that reason I would look for one with the 38 gallon gas tank.
Fast and powerful, interior of the mid range to base models is nothing fancy, very plain Jane.
Best in class turning radius, worst payload(the springs are fairly light which makes a nicer ride but less payload.). Decent towing but less than other Truck makers in the same 1/2 ton full size class.

Test drive a bunch of em to see if you like em.

Not sure about Tundras, but my old Tacoma 6cyl has 240k on it and runs like a champ. As much as I like the newer ones, I just can't cut this faithful bitch loose.

I'm looking at Tundra's on cars.com right now. Fuck they're expensive & rightfully so, I guess.

Mine has what is considered a totaled frame by insurance companies, but I still think I could sell it for 35K+ even disclosing the damage. Which is why I bought it back from insurance for 19K. That generation holds value very well as does most Toyotas.

Mine only has 22K miles though.

2015 Limited with 75k miles is $31k on here, and that's a 'great price' listing.

First generation tundra(pre 2007) are also very good trucks. I would look at low mileage ones. Engine is smaller but just as reliable from what I have heard. Always check frame for rust on, you never know where it lived.

Could probably find a nice cherry 1st gen for 15K? Not sure on that but I see them sometimes. If you don't need 4x4 the prices get a lot cheaper.

Mustang guy for a very long time. Owned 69 and 72 Mach 1s, a 91 LX 5.0, a 93 Cobra, 96 GT, 05 GT, and a 2012 Boss 302.

No playthings anymore, sadly. I have been itching to get another 72 lately, so maybe another is in the cards.
