Admittedly on first viewing it looked likea highway to me too, that's a fuck load of lanes. Either way, using bystanders as cover is a faux pas.

The chase was on a highway but then they exited. The road they were on is four lanes each way, but there are stop lights.

It's a Parkway not a Highway!!! 4 lanes in both directions, with stoplights, still a highway (a main road). I just ignore him/her.

But with you, I'm specifically talking about the risk of being murdered on the job. It's really rare that someone tries to kill an LE.
But soldiers deal with that same risk every day, as a real risk, and manage not elevate their safety over the safety of those they swore to protect.

There isn't a "friendly public face" component to a soldier's job the way there is for LE. You're also ignoring that although officer death on the job its almost always targetted unlike the industrial worker example you normally use.

It is a road and not a highway. Miramar Parkway just happens to be its name, but it easily could have been Miramar St or Miramar Rd, as other similarly sized roads directly to the north of it are called (Sheridan St, Stirling Rd for example).

A highway, on the east coast at least, does not have stop lights. So no, main road /= highway.

I just ignore him/her.

who brought up industrial worker? And there is definitely a 'friendly public face' component to a soldier's job - especially in peacekeeping missions...a situation where literally the only thing two sides in conflict can agree on is that they'd like to see you dead or out of their country.

there isn't a rational way to excuse what these LEs did.

You're repeatedly posted statistics for on the job deaths and pointed out that cops aren't high on the list of people likely to die at work.

Blue helmets aren't at all tasked with the PR duties that LEO's are.

State highways are roads. They are not the same as controlled-access highways, which are simply called "highways" on the east coast.

Not the first thing that comes to mind and most definitely not what you meant initially.

State highways are generally a mixture of primary and secondary roads.

Why post a bunch of unnecessary stuff? I live here and am familiar with the road system.
