I know several Southerners that moved to NYC & still have a large Southern accent

That is the issue- she seemingly spoke perfect English in the past, then seemed to have only a passing understanding of basic English during her last post-fight interview.

I thought she was destined for MMA greatness, but she needs to either get in the right weight class or get better control of her nutrition in camp.

She has stated that Portuguese has become her primary tongue, explaining that "my Dad and step Mom are both Brazilian. My boyfriend speaks Portuguese. I'm speaking Portuguese more than English. I still have lots of interactions in English of course. But I think in Portuguese, anything to do with fight is all in Portuguese in my mind, I dream in Portuguese."

I'm not buying it as much as I am still in doubt. The arguments seem to be petty too, like "she was born and raised in Arizona"as if that means anything when there is evidence that proves she's travelled back and forth between Brazil and the US throughout her life. Do you dispute that her father and step-mom both speak Portuguese? or her boyfriend? or her?

Her father is Brazilian so why wouldn't she be considered half Brazilian? she speaks Portuguese and English too which makes her more legitimately Brazilian than Cain Velasquez is Mexican or Stipe Miocic is Croatian.

Her father being brazilian means that she is native brazilian if she resides in Brazil and officially opts for brazilian nationality. I think being half brazilian is just a figure of speech right? Some people have multiple nationalities and others don't have any but I don't think people can be 1/2 brazilian or 1/3 mexican or whatever.

I don't care about her accent but I'm sure any examples you guys come up with of one or two people who have an accent or not don't apply at all to her.
