For me it's not about the "rule" it's about everyone's house burning down due some aboriginal dude parking a trailer and booting it in front of a hydrant.

When did the guy become Aboriginal? If I'd known that I wouldn't even have made this thread. It's his land and he can use it however he sees fit.

^ I don't like the term "Native" because it means people who were born in a country their ancestors didn't originally inhabit don't have a homeland, and that's bull shit.

ie, I'm not aboriginal, but I only have Canadian citizenship. So if I'm not a native Canadian, what am I?

A parked car will more than likely have little to no effect on putting out a fire. If water is needed they will get it, it could take a bit longer which could indeed to fatal though. If you're genuinely concerned about someone's safety I'd call the local FD and see their response. If you're just looking for a reason enforce street justice then the ass fucking suggestion would be a start.

He should use a chainsaw to cut a hole through the trailer and run a garden hose

Looking at the situation, even though it's clearly blocking it (I can't see the hydrant from my house) they would be able to work around it in an emergency situation but, as you pointed out, potentially costing seconds that in an emergency can be invaluable. When I contacted the city, I was told they only tow if it's in excess of 3 days so I don't see the fire department doing much about it either. I'm honestly astonished that they don't care. What's the point of having these laws if the penalty is a $50 fine and only in the event you get caught?
