Alright, need expert opinions here. Who should I start this week in Fantasy playoffs?

Purdy vs Miami

Rush vs Tampa Bay

Purdy's FF points the past 3 games: 2.16 against Buffalo (wk 13), 28.10 against Chicago (wk 14), 4,98 against LA (wk 15)

Rush: 12.80 against NYG (wk 13), 16.82 against Cincy (wk 14), 24.06 against Carolina (wk 15)
Purdy.

Clint Hurtt was the DL coach at Louisville during the Charlie Strong era and we all knew he was destined for something bigger. I dont know if he'll ever become a HC but players seem to genuinely love and respect the guy.
He looks huge
Players have to respect him for survival

I find it odd that the discourse around Miami is that Mike McDaniel should be on the hot seat (he should not be and he was just paid) and not that Chris Grier their GM should be fired.

Hes been the director of scouting from 2007-2016; he has been their GM since 2016. When has Miami ever been known to be a solid drafting team? Never. They have had some hits but their player management of those hits have been awful and pair that with a hugh percentage of their difference makers have been guys they got through FA. Grier is the constant problem there.

They need a new GM who can actually manage the cap to the degree needed to keep their top talent. Also he liked Tua over Herbert.

I have not seen anyone comment on this and I could be totally wrong in this but I kinda feel like there has been a change of culture in the NFL in regards to HC's filling out their coaching staff. I'm speaking primarily on new HC hires who are on the younger side but it feels like GMs are having much more say in who the coords are.

The culture used to be that when a guy gets a HC job he already had his staff in mind and those were guys he has a working relationship with for years. There was a "Hey if I get a HC job you are gonna be my OC/DC and if you get a HC job I'll be your OC/DC". Outside of the Shanahan coaching tree it does not feel like that is happening with some of these new HC hires. They have not been around long enough to develop a strong network of coaching relations.

I look at Robert Saleh wanting to keep Mike Lafleur as his OC and being told no. I look at Mike McDaniel having a new DC every year hes been a HC and think that he does not have 100% say in who he brings in at DC. I think he had a relationship with Vic due to Brandon Staley being a disciple of his but that's 2nd degree and when things were not going that well in Miami McDaniel didn't come to Vic's defense. It's clear that Vic was not the problem there and they are worse off now that he's gone.

This does not mean HCs are always right. We seen even HOF coaches like Mike Tomlin be to loyal to his OC in Matt Canada as we all knew he sucked. We are currently seeing Doug Pederson being too loyal to Press Taylor and its hurting their team. Those situations though are rare.

With how cutthroat it is in today's NFL and how short of a lease HCs have it seems they are being forced to fire coords they don't wanna fire and are not allowed to hire who they want to hire. Makes sense business wise as the HC is not the one signing checks but I think there is no better evaluator of coaching talent than a coach who's placing their job status on hiring a good coord.

Thats just my observation as an outsider.

More differences between well run and shitty organizations.

The great front offices don't mettle in HC responsibilities unless they absolutely have to.

Poor front offices have the owner making draft picks. (Hi Jerry)

In Seattle, Macdonald had full control over selecting his staff. I think what you’re describing is mostly something that happens in dysfunctional organizations.

Those are the essentially untouchable jobs.
I started making a list and that's as far as I got. I'm sure there are others that are safe, but those three could probably fuck the owner's wife and still have a job.
