Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes, admitted in court that his scuffle with former MLB relief pitcher John Rocker during the Super Bowl week in New Orleans was staged for a Barstool Sports fight:

“(It) was a staged altercation to get publicity for (a) celebrity boxing match that was set to take place in April 2025."

Via TMZ Sports.

Mahomes Sr can't even keep Kayfabe for two weeks.
This is my shocked face.

I read the entire Wells report on Deflategate, and it was a pile of bullshit.

They admitted in court they had zero evidence Brady did anything wrong. Brady was the only person in the entire debacle that was actually under oath in court. Jeff Pash is a bald faced liar.

Years later, we find out psoitively the NFl lied through their teeth the entire time and also had no idea about the Ideal gas law.
They supposedly recorded air pressure aroudn the league the following year but sealed the records......because they found that footballs lose PSI on their own in cold weather, just like your fucking tires. Imagine that. The initial report of how low the footballs were was a lie as well, it was not 12 footballs that were 2 psi under. Another lie that got initially released to the public, so that's all they believe now unless the followed the case. The truth came out later, but by then, no one cared.

They also suspended Ezekiel Eliiot for something their own invesigators said they could find no evidence of. Kangaroo court
I mean Brady admitted it. It happened. The NFL was right.

No way the Bengals can pay that, right? Where would you guess he ends up?
They COULD pay it... but Hendrickson would be gone... Higgins would be gone...

They'd have EVEN WORSE of a line than they have now.

This really is just the Ohio Cowboys at this point. They're heading to have 3-4 top tier contracts... which fucks you.

If you had to guess, who signs him? Can you imagine if Baltimore got him? Probably not realistic but one can dream.

He did not admit it. he never admitted it. In fact, he was the only one in court that was under oath and testified that he did not do it.

The case became less about the evidence that he did it, )which there was none) and more about goodell’s power under article 43

Yeah I was being a dick. He jokingly admitted it at his roast. I mean I think he obviously did it but who cares. I dont think it matters at all.

My point was that the Wells report around that case was incredibly flawed and full of lies and it sounds like the incognito case one was as well
The NFL got caught in court, telling a lie. That’s why the original judge overturned the entire thing

Wonder if Denver could afford him Rambo John J @Rambo John J? Him with Nix, and that defense. They'd immediately be a decent RB away from SB contention.
Nope, still have 30million dead cap hit from Russ Wilson(last year). Don't have enough money yet for a huge contract like those guys want.
Denver's defense fell apart late season when teams got enough film on our horrible LBs and inability to cover in zone D and also fell apart in man to man a bit. Defense needs a lot of upgrades and some money will need to be spent on the stars that are at the end of rookie deals and contracts.
This will be year two of the rebuild, and year two of having all our draft picks.

Serious Roster Holes at RB, TE, WR, ILB(x2), OLB, FS CB depth...any cash they have will go to players filling those needs at a reasonable price.

Perhaps after the disasters recently (DeShaun Watson, Russell Wilson etc.) the QB market will plateau somewhat.

That might be swallowed up by RBs, who have been underpaid the last few seasons.
I think no player should be above 25 mill, but bidding wars change all of that

Got it. Not familiar with the report at all. The wiki alone on it is way longer than I'm going to spend on it but I see the suspension was ultimatyely upheld... dunno.

It was ultimately upheld because the case came down to Roger Goodell’s power under article 43 to hand out punishment as he sees fit. It cannot be challenged.
It’s his ultimate master blaster power as NFL commissioner
The court overturned the suspension initially because there was a lack of evidence and they caught Jeff Pash lying basically. He admitted under testimony they had no proof that Brady was responsible for any of it.

another example of him abusing article 43 is when he suspended Ezekiel Elliott for six games even though the NFL‘s own investigator said there wasn’t any evidence that he did anything wrong

I wouldn’t mind that balance a little. Quarterback salaries coming down and running back salaries coming up a little bit.

Dak Prescott is a massively overpaid quarterback as well

I also think any kind of signing bonus or roster bonus needs to count against the cap. I hate how teams are able to kick the cap down the road by restructuring everything into a signing bonus. It’s bullshit.
