Here's my current set of rug rats. I also take care of any strays, feed all the birds, rescue anything and everything. I have volunteered with animals since I was 8 and was a foster home for several years and have volunteered at a farm sanctuary too. I love animals more than most people :)

My kids also have their own hashtag on IG :) #thezoodailies • Instagram photos and videos
This makes me sad... no longer have those two kitties and lost the all black one Spooky just before Thanksgiving a year ago under tragic circumstances. I still have the two dogs, now 13.5 and 11.5 and also have 3 male cats adopted/rescued under various circumstances. Oh and have 3 feral foster kittens at the moment too. I live in a zoo.

Good timing for this thread to pop up again, as I just found this picture on my phone the other day.

I took this pic when my son was about 7 months old, and he was just starting to bond with our black lab (Lola). She was the mellowest, kindest, and loving lab I've ever seen. She was fantastic with our baby, and so gentle and tolerant. Unfortunately she passed about two months after this pic. Our son is 4 now, and he still remembers her and talks about her (which still makes me happy-sad). She was just shy of 15 years old, which was a really good run for a 90-pound lab.

After several years, I'm just now thinking about getting another dog, and I have a buddy who is breeding his lab soon. I think it will be awesome for our boy to grow up with a dog in the house.

End FRAT. Still makes me sad she's gone :(

We adopted a feral cat about 8 years ago. She's been....interesting. She refuses to come in the house (she would get super freaked out), so she's been a full time outdoor cat (have to admit I like the no litter box setup). We feed her and have a place for her to stay on the front porch, and also a spot in the backyard, but that's the end of our relationship. She hates people, and is quite mean. I would guess that I actually pet her or touch her maybe twice a year. She never runs off and is always around our yard though. She is a psycho killer and is a highly functional rodent/pest control device around our house. Super weird cat, and not much of a "pet", but we still like having her around.

Cats gonna cat.

So in other words, you feed a wild animal from your front porch? :p

edit: Also, and I'm not trying to be a downer in a thread full of cat lovers, but many people are taking the extreme route of simply killing cats that wind up in their yards without collars or tags. It's all part of an effort to mitigate the damage outside cats do to local wildlife everywhere in the world. Be careful and for those that have the choice I highly recommend keeping them in doors. :)

Have you heard of DH Lawrence? I'm sat 100m from where the cunt was born.
I've heard of him but I'm not very familiar with his work. That's cool though! I'm a fan boy when it comes to stuff like that lol

Thats our cat. Her name is Kitty. She is the Boss in the house, the dogs dont want nothin to do with her. She has always watched my daughter sleep and always lets me know when something isnt right.

Kitty passed away last night at 13 years old. We are taking her to the crematorium today at 3. Ive never had a pet cremated before.

This fucker has been hanging around all day so I'm claiming it as a new pet.

A mascot at the very least.
