Ha! I used to be blonde as can be growing up, but the more Irish whiskey I drink, the more red it gets!

I think most of the (strawberry?) blonde I had in my childhood went mousy brown

You may be on to something here. I was blonde-ish growing up (not super bleached blonde), but as an adult my hair is light brown now. However, my beard is RED - which I didn't even know until I grew one out lol. I am also fond of the whiskey, so maybe that's the cause of this genetic mutation 🙂

My wife is half Asian, and I thought for sure her genes were going to trump and give us a child with dark brown hair and brown eyes. But nope, he's blonde with hazel eyes. And his hair has a touch of strawberry to it. He doesn't drink whiskey yet though so I dunno, maybe it isn't the whiskey 😉
