For me it totally was. At that time with wwf and wcw I was watching wrestling more than ever. When I was younger it was warrior and hogan, when I was older it was Bret hart stone cold etc
You must be forgetting Ministry of Darkness Undertaker, Dude Love, Kurt Angle and Stone Cold with a fucking ukulele. Mae Young everything. Dear God there was a lot of really awful stuff during that time.

Doesn't matter, everything else was just filler until you got the payoff feud and that was enough for a lot of people. These guys have never been able to book a full show, you hope for signature feuds that make you ignore the bad, plus Raw was two hours back then.

That sucks to hear. I'd choke a motherfucker for running over my dog.
No idea who did it. He got out after I went to work. Found him the next morning.

Roman had Cesaros tape all around his ribs. That's how he can keep coming back.

AUstin and McMahon dude, that's what I think of when I thinK attitude era, you got the first best itteration of the only villain since the 80's that matters in the WWF/WWE, and Stone cold, then the Rock and Mankind thrown in

That part of the era at the top is enough for me,

Payoffs come at the end. Not the middle, lol.

Marquis feud then man whatever right word made it so that when it was McMahon vs Austin, nothing before since the the 80's and nothing since has made me ignore the bad on Raw. That's it.

If it wasn't for you, then that's your view but that's why I defend that part of the Attitude Era, Austin Vs McMahon week to week was must see Tv period.

I agree it was both the marquee feud, and must see TV. I'm just pointing out there was a lot of really cringe worthy filler and awful ring work. After a while "They need the Attitude Era back" gets tiring, and yes, I know it wasn't you who said it.

Wrong promotion bro, lol. Truth is WCW at that time was better than the Attitude Era ever was.
Yes indeed. But that's what fueled both programs. Competition.

Raw doesn't have anyone to push it. Hogan/Sting was epic. It took that to fuel Stone Cold Imo.

If I were Vince. I would be bringing in The Young Bucks. Just for the Bullet Club trademark. Do some deals with NJPW and share talent. Cross promote. Have run ins. Developed some sort of War between the two.

It even would have been a good idea to cross promote with NXT rather than raiding the cupboard to make 2 rosters.

Also. I think we as fans are too involved these days. We have a hard time just sitting back and enjoying the product. For better or worse

For sure but it's the perspective of the highest peak covering the ugliest valley, overall it may have had the lowest points otherwise, but it all depends on how much subjective coverage you give to having the only mainstream penetrative era since Hogan and after till now in the WWE and part of that is never shedding the same villain stable.

The Peak that the 80's Hogan/Andre Hogan/Macho reached erases all the nonsensical flakey shit they did that failed at the early PPV's and similarly so did Austin and McMahon buy them a lot of shade to cover the crap they dcame up with in the attitude era, where as otehr eras have have a more stable line of quality their peaks don't reach the same marquis.

I lapsed in late 2000 so I can only really look at the 97-1999 time and everything before it.

Agree. Although I have lots of suggestions for them, I try to enjoy it for what it is. The in ring work has never been better.

Well the WWE are complicit in that problem, they jumped on social media like it was going to be their ticket back into the mainstream but the trade off is exposing the whole industry like never before and that is essentially like showing everyone every step in a magic trick then expecting them to sit in the audience and enjoy the same show
