Had one of my sources contact a UFC hall of famer that also works for them. I was told he asked Dana about selling last week and was promised it was all BS. Person said they would be pissed off if the news is true.

I don't know if a Chinese company owning the UFC is any better than Tiny Swole and Egg.

Would be interesting if dana was feeding false info to the company just so ariel would get hold of it and post it. Seems like a dana thing to do to get back at ariel and discredit him.

I really hope it isn't someone who tries to turn this into a family sport, but hey if it's good for the fighters you'll hear no complaints from me.

Why would they just hire a lobbyist?
And Dana/Trump?

Perhaps Trump bought it?

I'm not sure how anyone can be so happy about this when NOBODY knows who or what the new owners will do with the company or what it will turn into in the future. For all we know they could cut half the roster, reduce fighter pay, cut off bonuses, cut entire divisions , bring in some stupid rules. There are some pretty freaking ruthless corperations out there that make Dana and co look like saints. I wouldn't be having a ticker tape parade just yet. Yes, maybe some positives may come out of it, but in my experience with huge companies buying other companies, not once has it been good for the employees. It won't be run my fans of the sport, everything will be dictated by profit and making more coin for the shareholders.

I'd like to see everybodies posts in four yrs time and see if everyones views are still the same.

As someone wrote before. Sometimes your better off with the devil you know.

Do you really think in the current climate, ANYONE could be worse?

Zuffa were fans of money. MMA was secondary, and most of the male population are fans, it's not rare.
Things are changing in MMA, and that lawsuit was th e beginning of something beautiful.

As long as we still get to see great fights and great promotion, IDGAF who's running things.

Would hope whoever is taking over will pay the fighters too though.

McMahon would either re-legitimize MMA in a way never before seen, or drive it into the ground faster than XFL. There is no room for middle ground with that man.
McMahon succeeds at wrestling and nothing else.

That's my point. He drove all of his alternative ventures into the ground but still runs WWE as a billion-dollar company.

The interesting comparative here is that McMahon knows how to promote, and he knows how to do it well. And UFC could stand for a significant change-up in MMA promotion. Nobody cries for MMA pageantry anymore. It's just a bland sport. Let someone with some creative genius give it a shot imo.
