What's that..400 million? Holy shit, blaf has come a long waya from Thai-bo or boxercize whatever. Is my math right?

Whatever this is all rumor. But if those are the kinds of numbers they're talking, I can't see the UFC being anywhere near the Star Wars franchise's sale price. Disney bought Star Wars from Lucas for 4 billion. I call BULLSHIT.
This is a fair point

The MMA landscape will look completely different by the end of summer. I would guess no more Fertittas and Rogan to start. I don't know why Dana would want to stick around with all the $ he would make from the sale.I just hope the Chinese businessmen don't ruin the sport.

I'm not sure how anyone can be so happy about this when NOBODY knows who or what the new owners will do with the company or what it will turn into in the future. For all we know they could cut half the roster, reduce fighter pay, cut off bonuses, cut entire divisions , bring in some stupid rules. There are some pretty freaking ruthless corperations out there that make Dana and co look like saints. I wouldn't be having a ticker tape parade just yet. Yes, maybe some positives may come out of it, but in my experience with huge companies buying other companies, not once has it been good for the employees. It won't be run my fans of the sport, everything will be dictated by profit and making more coin for the shareholders.

I'd like to see everybodies posts in four yrs time and see if everyones views are still the same.

As someone wrote before. Sometimes your better off with the devil you know.
People can be hopeful for the future. I think it is more likely that the whoever bought them, for that much, would make the company more corporate. No more Dana after fights shitting on champions, other fighters, and the like. New presentation, perhaps not right away, but anyone will want to stamp their mark on something, even a little. Fighters will still get penny pinched, stars will still get favourable treatment, and fans will continue to bitch and moan, just the company will react to it in a more professional manner.

Dana sticking around would be to help facilitate a successful transition, and show his replacement the ropes, so to speak. It's pretty standard in business.

That's my point. He drove all of his alternative ventures into the ground but still runs WWE as a billion-dollar company.

The interesting comparative here is that McMahon knows how to promote, and he knows how to do it well. And UFC could stand for a significant change-up in MMA promotion. Nobody cries for MMA pageantry anymore. It's just a bland sport. Let someone with some creative genius give it a shot imo.
I humbly accept your nomination for the new position of Creative Senior Manager for the UFC.

You make a good point but to me the wild thing is that the majority of hardcore fans have been vocally against the UFC's moves over the last few years AND have pitched very good ideas online. Yet no new direction was taken. IF this is true then a lot of people on the gravy train will have to justify their salaries to new bosses.

Change, now or later it's the only thing that doesn't.

aren't the Chinese trying to stuff their money in real estate and other ventures before the economy crashes over there? the ufc might be sold again for a 1/3 of the price in a few years time imo.

If true and the new owners somehow tank the UFC, we still have Bellator, ONE and Rizin

This is the beginning of the end of the organizational model in MMA.

Foreign ownership with little to no personal stake in the sport.

Legal pressure from Congress to dismantle promotional clout.

Antitrust suits from former employees

Within two years the sport will be completely unrecognizable. It may be for the best in the long run, but there are dark times ahead.

Possibly but there are dark times right now, it's just a gold polished piece of shit. Fighters being paid scraps and intentionally withheld proper earnings in favour of the promoters and owners getting incredibly rich while doing a shitty job. All promotion being placed on the organization itself instead of paying respect to the athletes who dedicate their lives the the craft. All media being strong-armed into PR reps as oppose to actual journalists. The same shitty song, shitty announcers who say the same shitty lines (Buffer/Goldberg), shitty posters and shitty promotion for every single event. Blatantly hand-picking and favouring 'company men' who kiss the ass of the owners and do as their told as oppose to a more level-playing field for all athletes in the sport. Ridiculous bully-tactics used to control their own employers (or contractors or whatever you want to call them).

If the sport is unrecognizable in a few years then I welcome that and hopefully won't have to cringe my way through watching an event every time. The only good thing about it right now is the competition between high-level athletes, everything else is embarrassing.

Had one of my sources contact a UFC hall of famer that also works for them. I was told he asked Dana about selling last week and was promised it was all BS. Person said they would be pissed off if the news is true.
I wouldn't tell Matty Hugs anything either...

New owner brings back Pride in Japan only, no testing. Folds the UFC due to poor performances by non juiced athletes. MMA fans lose their shit left right and center. World peace occurs. Man lands on moon. Diet Coke is removed from market. Future, solved....

Its funny thinking back to when SEG sold it back in the day. I've posted numerous times about how refreshing Zuffa was at first. They had a plan and met and surpassed most expectations from a business standpoint. We weren't thinking in those terms, or atleast I wasn't. I could go on a gigantic FRAT about how this whole thing has gone from small, unknown, not even in TV, to where it is today...They are the new SEG. The UFC has grown stale in all ways except maybe the actual matches. It seems like the same thing over and over. Its time to shake things up. Get some people that are excited to deliver the best product available. Make this stuff exciting again.

We can never get the glory days back but man..for those that missed it, I would be freakin AMP'd for the next shows. I mean glued to the screen for every fight, having the chills, and jumping out of my seat all the time..and I didn't miss one broadcast. Maybe it was because I was so young, starved of fights, but the UFC was grand back then. Now..Its still good but it's like whatever.

I can't imagine people putting up BILLIONS of dollars would have the UFC or even MMA fail. That's a huge investment, and you better believe they will want to make it back and them some. Its just good buisness practice. So bring it in Chinese or whoever. Buy this fucker already!

If it sells there's no way Dana stays on for 2 years. He will be valuable during the initial transition, but the new owners would want him gone as soon as they pumped as much info from him as they can.

Hopefully the $4 price tag doesn't mean they won't have money left in the pot to lay the fighters. My (selfish) best case scenario would be they scale back the pay per views and do bugger fights on Fox and Fight Pass.

They will pay for the fighters lay? I like that. Every KO gets you a lay with anyone you can buy.

Coker's too busy trying to sign bearded fighter's from Kimbo's family and entourage
This is not just stupid, it is also tasteless as hell... you are aware Kimbo died right? Maybe you could find something better to make fun of at the moment?

Coker tried to sign Kimbo's son as a replacement opponent against James Thompson the day after Kimbo died.

maybe you aren't aware of that?
