It depends what type of F35 it is. As were never meant to land on carriers b are short take off and vertical landers that can land on carriers if they have the space for it. Cs were designed for the Navy with the reinforced landing gears that allow them to land on a carrier.
yep. but it was helmets that were making it hard to land. The way I recall, it wasn't going to be an easy fix, so I'd be surprised if putting them in combat is even be considered.

They've seen combat in Syria and Afghanistan iirc.

Yeah their helmets allow the pilot a full 365 vision through the plane via vr tech. I bet once the records are released that Occurs will lead back in someway to the DARPA projects to develop that helmet.

Do they even need humans?

the 35C? All I can find is that they finally declared a squadron "combat ready" in 2019...
Which was 3 years ago, but Ukraine is surrounded by Nato allies. In the event that the US steps in they would use one of the numerous Airbase, if not create their own ones, in their allies countries anyway. Making it a moot point. I know a C recently crashed near China and fell into the sea but that seems like an isolated incident. I remember hearing about the helmet issue a while back, but I think that was fixed.

You've got to remember that even the f16 had issues that needed to be worked out, but they did that in the 70s. The f35 is a revolutionary aircraft and atm has no peers. It's why more and more countries are signing up to order them even now.

i'm not shitting on the plane, i just don't think the US would be launching them off carriers if they were going to put them in harm's way.

The convoy is still stalled north of Kyiv. An axe has bypassed Sumi and is coming from the east to help encircle Kyiv. Fighting and shelling remains fierce in Kharkiv, Ukraine launched a counter attack to push them back. They have linked up the axe from Crimea with the Donbass front, creating their coveted land bridge to Crimea. Mariupol is encircled and has no water or power, still holding out however. In Kherson rapes are being reported. Last night Russians seized the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. They also started a fire by shelling the administrative building. Russian losses are substantial but Ukranian losses are surely also high. The troops in the eastern front are being pincered and will need to retreat soon. Expect an amphibious and land based assault on Odessa soon.
