I was browsing around on Reddit, and saw this comment on Putin, made me lol:
"He could have coasted his entire life on the rep he built over the past twenty / thirty years, as the powerful, ruthless, badass real life Bond villain, who ran shit with an iron fist and you just didn't cross if you wanted to live. One day there'd have been news that he died, everyone would have gone "holy shit... you guys are sure, right?", someone new would have taken his place, he'd have remained shrouded in myth, and life would have carried on.
Instead, he decided to invade a much smaller and weaker country led by a literal clown, and is showing that the long feared Russian bear has rotted out teeth, is getting Russia's economy nuked back to the Big Bang, and is getting out-badassed and out-PRed by the funnyman who once played Hava Nagila with his dick. Who was headed to be a "lol Eastern European politics amirite" courtesy / filler / box tick page on Wikipedia, a footnote to Trump's impeachment, and maybe a pub quiz trivia question, and now is a household name and being hailed as a hero, orator, symbol of resistance, PR genius, and force to be reckoned with.
Future historians are going to have a field day dissecting this fuckup."
