The way to reclaim this grandeur is to return to the old glory days, of both Russian and American chauvinism, using the old power structures, of a dominant caste based on ethnic identity and “superiority,” with a bonus theocratical element.

Maybe current and former imperial powers. America and Russia also export it to their neighbours and allies, look at the drooling “truckers” in Ottawa.

There’s a lot more, the need for a “strong” authority figure, the illiberal culture war, and need to project force on others as justification of greatness. Make America Great Again is the same rallying cry as Return Russia to Glory.

It is just what I call it.
My lady has no idea what I am talking about, she just starts cooking.
I bought her 2 PTO attachments for her Cuisinart when I saw them on sale for half price...Some roller deal for crackers and pasta, + small meat grinder dealio.

No it’s a video of Ukrainian soldiers mocking a well known Russian pilot photographed with both Putin and Assad and awarded service medals for Syrian bombing runs, and then calling his fiancée and saying he is going to be castrated.

oh but he only bombed military targets, that’s how we know Russia operates

Sheepdog @Sheepdog the guy has been covered early in the thread, we were making fun of him because we all thought pilots would be in good shape but he’s fat as fook. He was captured a few weeks ago but I didn’t see this part of the video until now

So you're not trying to justify the past murder and torture of a prisoner of war based on no actual evidence that he killed kids in an unrelated conflict, you're just justifying the threatened future murder and torture of a prisoner of war based on the the same unproven accusations about his conduct in an unrelated conflict. And even if these baseless accusations were true, it's still irrelevant.

If it's acceptable to torture and kill a member of an air force that killed children in a conflict, then it's acceptable to torture and kill every member of nearly every air force in the world.

There is no justification for torturing POWs. Period. And by adding in the 'Syrian child murder' accusation, that's exactly what you are doing.

I didn’t justify it at all, I called it a war crime and said it was fucked up. I said I don’t have too much sympathy for the individual pilot because he has bombed indiscriminately (they shot him down attacking a civilian area) in at least one but most probably two wars. When you fook around, you might find out. Calling his fiancée is the worst part, she might not know he is a scumbag.

seriously dude enough of the faux outrage at positions you imagine people take. Climb down off that high horse.

The only purpose of doing so is to in some way justify or downplay it.

You can be against something, as obviously any sane person isn't pro-torture, but still offer partial justifications for it.

Maybe stop with the faux Ukrainian MMA forum freedom fighter act, and maybe you'll stop accusing people like me who point out that you are drifting into some pretty dark territory of being faux outraged or sitting on a high horse.

I am just concerned that you are going to transition from what I would call 'orc-curious' to a full-blown flaming 'kill all the Russian orcs!' type that you see on twitter.

I look out for my faux Ukrainian freedom fighting buddies like that.

I say kill all the Russian orcs. I don't see what they add to the world. These aren't professional soldiers. They are illegal mercenary death sqauds.

Raping, murdering scum bags don't change. We will be doing their families and neighbours a favour by dropping some phosphorus on their heads. No need to make it pain free.

I'll press the button if the professionals are squeamish.
