"As of today, as of this minute, we do not have one single casualty, or wounded, not a single man has even had a runny nose," Kadyrov said, denying what he said were false reports of casualties from Ukrainian sources.

"The president (Putin) took the right decision and we will carry out his orders under any circumstances," said Kadyrov.

Kadyrov has often described himself as Putin's "foot soldier" and his words echoed those of the Russian leader who on Friday urged Ukrainians to rise up against their own government, which he said was made up of "neo-Nazis". Ukrainian officials say that description of them is absurd.

It seems that since taking office, Zelenskyy has not been particularly successful in tackling corruption in Ukraine.

Do you think that the patriotic support he has garnered by visibly standing with his people since the invasion began, coupled with the increased willingness of the oligarchs to work with the government, could enable him to reform Ukraine more effectively if Ukraine somehow manages to repel the Russians?
I think in terms of reforming Ukraine Zelensky is in over his head, but he’s definitely popular and beloved, especially now.

It's hard to say. "Reform" and "anti-corruption" often mask a lot of other agendas, as anyone in South America, the Middle East or various parts of Africa can tell you. As a populist president, it's difficult to know who he will be able to bring to his side and whose interests the circumstances will enable him to represent. Rebuilding Ukraine will require a lot of capital, regardless of the outcome. Even if it comes from foreign relief, it has to go through someone's hands locally. Zelenskyy will probably come out of this well unless he's killed or imprisoned and even then, there's already a lot of movement on media to make him into a martyr and hero. Either he or his memory will be used for any number of purposes whenever we get to the aftermath of this.

It's amazing, the Russian government haven't admitted to a single casualty, when internet is littered with images and photos and actual captured soldiers.

It's ideological for KGB-esque regime, they don't even see people as people, soldiers are killed and they don't acknowledge because they're just meat to them. Damn scumbags.
