Oh, we can take a lot of credit. I'm not saying the West is responsible for all the ills of Afghanistan, obviously.
But we gave the money and support to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to radicalize generations of Afghanis and gave future Jidhadi terrorists weapons directly. We did this to fight a regime that allowed women to walk down the streets in miniskirts and that did its best to crack down on Islamic fundamentalism. We deliberately reversed the small amount of social progress the country had made.
And then we turn around and talk about 'women's rights'. LOL.
The problem is moderate muslims are in trouble. Taliban will not allow woman to work and send back its country to stone age.
So Biden should have withdrawn in May, as per Trump's withdrawal plan? How the fuck would that have changed anything?

It's a good thing we are getting out of there. We are all tired of being voted to go to wars without obvious benefits or ends.
Instead of the crocodile tears about veteran suicides while also suggesting that the only solution was not to pull out and continue the suicide machine for just a little longer, this twitter account should try donating to veterans groups and consider WHY the suicides and PTSD are happening.
We'd all love to see a "win" anywhere we send our sons and daughters, but no one wants another 20 years of this.

It's by orders of magnitude a more fundamentalist religious society today than it was then. Was it a completely fanatical religious country when it had a (nominally) communist government?
The deliberate strategy to turn it into a fundamentalist religious shithole began in the early 1970s and the shitholery successfully progressed from there.
