The Finals! So here we are, the top two guys in the tournament. They will battle to win this very prestigious superhero GP on a spin off MMA forum. Yes, it has been noted that Apocalypse is not a superhero. For this final battle, I have made voting public. Let's get voting!

Apocalypse - @ECC170 vs Spawn - @BirdWatcher

Rules:
The fight starts in a grassy field 100 miles from anywhere - if you want a fight in jungles, snow or a city, you have to take the fight there. They have their powers in their ideal settings (eg Superman has been solar charged, Neo is in the Matrix, Namor is fully hydrated etc).




If there's any issues with how this is being run I'm sure @Leigh has a very good and well thought explanation. Tbh I've read maybe 4 comic books in my life and have no idea who mosf these guys are. I picked Spawn as the HBO cartoon clips I've seen look awesome. As far as I know when @Leigh closed the polls on BB vs Spawn I was in the lead even after a days extension. It seems that one of Black Bolts super powers is crying from the grave....

In all seriousness though if there's any discrepancy at all I'm happy to simply bow out and enjoy reading how this plays out. I'm not a comic book guy and doubt I'll start at 35. I just wanted to shit talk on a friendly level and have some good LOLs along the way. I leave it in @Leigh capable hands.

OK, as adjudicator, here are my thoughts.

The tournament should be at about Superman level-ish. God Spawn is not really in the spirit of the tourney. However, I let Apocalypse in, so meh.

Regarding vote tallies, I don't lock them, so they could change after the official count. Those votes won't be counted.

Second, point of clarification @Leigh where does the battle take place, i.e. what universe. Spawn resides in a universe somewhat similar to our own, but heavily ruled over by the world of magic with a seeming monotheistic power structure from whence he gains his powers. Apocalypse is in the Marvel Universe (and are we talking 616 here?) and has powers granted by Celestials who are very high in the power tier, but not on top of it as we've recently seen.

Angela's inclusion in the 616 Marvel U means there is an official bridge between the two characters, but I haven't read any stories with her in Marvel so I don't know if her power set has been upgraded or downgraded. I do know she's killed past versions of Spawn, but isn't unbeatable.

It seems like in the 616 MU or a neutral dimension, Apocalypse has a slight advantage. In TMP, Spawn runs away with it.

Spawn gets his supernatural powers, Apocalypse has his powers. The setting is an ideal environment for both.

I kinda hate both characters. Apocalypse is more intriguing to me, but Spawn has had so many power ups and Apocalypse so many defeats due to being a villain.

If it's a fight to the death, it could last for centuries with both guys host jumping and resurrecting. But there is a way to definitively kill Apocalypse it seems where I'm not sure there's a way to kill Spawn. I'm choosing Spawn on a coin flip.

At least it's an all POC final.

since you seem to know a lot about this, what can apocalypse do to escape a time freeze? is he screwed, or not? if they both have max powers, this would be a big help for spawn, no?

Apocalypse has had access to timesliding tech for a long time so he might be able to find some sort of way out. He's defeated time travelers like Kang to appropriate it in the past. Also, even in a time freeze Spawn would have to be aware of all of his hosts and destroy each to finish him off.
