Donald Trump Wants UFC Boss Dana White to Speak at Republican National Convention
Donald Trump would like UFC President Dana White to speak at the Republican National Convention next month.
According to a report from the New York Times, the presidential candidate expressed a desire at a rally on Friday to have a variety of sports figures appear at the GOP Convention, which is set to take place from July 18 to July 21 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
“Dana White, you know Dana White?” Trump asked the crowd. “U.F.C. Guy’s a champion. These are champions.”
In addition to White, Trump mentioned the likes of former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight, NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger and chief NASCAR executive Brian France among those who have supported his campaign.
“We’re going to do it a little different, if it’s O.K.,” Trump said of his plans to change the format of the Republican National Convention. “I’m thinking about getting some of the great sports people who like me a lot.”
