Even if he were king, there are currently no viable solutions.
So far the plans I've heard all consist of "Immediately cease use of fossil fuels, electrify everything and power it with 0 emissions electricity." None of these solutions are things that can be immediately implemented and all have glaring problems. Trading fossil fuels for batteries seems like a good idea this second, but is going to age about as well as trading paper bags for plastic.

I'm not the President and don't have the power to get whole teams to work on this for me to come up with some answers. All I know is this needs to be done and fast, but I'm extremely pessimistic about anything being done in time. Personally, I think the kind of change that is required is so impalatable to the people in charge that we will probably go extinct before they make them.
