Hey man, thanks for understanding what I meant. I was legit not trying to put down your opinion or anything. I just figured that as a new fan I could try and explain how well, if you like MMA.. you know how it can be when certain big time fighters don't really engage in slugfests every time out.
The big part everyone wanted to see was how the best offensive fighter of modern times (Manny) and the best defensive fighter of the same era (Floyd) would match up. Power and speed vs defense and accuracy.
It 100% would've been a better and more competitive fight 5 years ago, but the reason it was hyped so much is because we had to wait so long for it. Manny's career went down a few notches and he was not the Pacquiao from 2009 or so in this fight.
There's some really exciting KO artists out there right now like the undefeated middleweigfht champ, Gennady Golovkin. He's just hit the US in the last 2 years and more people are learning his name.
From wiki:
"Currently undefeated as a professional, he is the reigning WBA and IBO middleweight champion. He holds the highest KO ratio in middleweight championship history with a 90.63% knockout percentage, and is ranked the number seven pound-for-pound boxer by Ring Magazine.[1] Golovkin has never been knocked down or knocked out in over 375 fights, both as a professional and amateur. "
He's putting guys away like this in very fight, usually very early too. He's probably my favorite guy to watch right now.
Just wanted to share some cool shit, because it's like MMA.. if ya know where to look, there's guys out there who maybe are not huge draws to the public, but they are absolutely a thrill to watch.
I think GGG is on a 19 fight knockout streak at the moment. People are terrified to fight him.
Next time one of his fights comes up, or another fighter known for being a brutal finishes, I'll give you a heads up. Also, if you ever wanna see some really devastating shit, just google "Mike Tyson knockouts" for an idea of how crazy the sport can be sometimes haha.
Or, if you have 3 minutes to kill?
Check this out. This is considered one of the greatest rounds in history in one of the greatest fights in history. The entire thing only went 8 minutes total, but this first round is amazing.

Just a quick showcase of how fun and jump out of your seat inducing boxing can be too. Just depends on the styles of guys etc. But seriously. Out of all the shit I posted, watch that 9th round. The entire fight was amazing, but that shit is just something else
