we are not talking terminal cancer patients here

Another British Columbian, Alan Nichols, was euthanized only days after his family brought him to a Chilliwack hospital to recover from a psychiatric episode. Despite Nichols’ history of severe mental illness and suicidal tendencies, he was approved for death by health authorities after only four days in the hospital’s psychiatric ward.

its cheaper to kill people than treat them but it is super unethical. oh you got chronic pain and nothing seems to help ?? have you considered allowing the state to put you down like a old dog? got mental issues? why not let the hospital kill you. that is not what we are supposed to be doing here and its not what euthanasia is for .

Canada's Royal Canadian Mounted Police have changed their view of the mass stabbing spree in and near Saskatchewan's James Smith Cree Nation that has now killed 11 and left 19 injured, including the suspects.

Saskatchewan RCMP found the body of suspect Damien Sanderson, 31, outside a house in the area with "visible injuries … not believed to be self-inflicted" and no longer believe he was involved in the homicides, Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore said.

His brother Myles Sanderson, 30, is still at large, considered armed and dangerous, and is injured and may seek medical attention, the Regina Leader-Post reports. He's now charged with "three counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, and one count of break and enter."

The Canadian Press - Sep 7, 2022 / 2:43 pm | Story: 383905

RCMP say Myles Sanderson, a suspect in a deadly stabbing rampage northeast of Saskatoon over the weekend, has been taken into custody near the town of Rosthern.
More coming.
UPDATE 2:45 p.m.
A notice sent over Saskatchewan's emergency alert system says a report of a person armed with a knife driving in a stolen vehicle northeast of Saskatoon may be connected to a deadly stabbing rampage over the weekend.
The person is reported to have been travelling in a 2008 white Chevy Avalanche in the community of Wakaw, where the vehicle was reported stolen.
The notice says people should seek immediate shelter and use caution when allowing people into their homes.
They are also being told not approach suspicious people or pick up hitchhikers.
A suspect in the killings, Myles Sanderson, is still at large.
Ten people were killed and 18 were injured in a series of stabbings in various locations Sunday on the James Smith Cree Nation and nearby village of Weldon.
A second suspect was also found dead.

i want to see how this shit show of an investigation plays out . all eyes will be on the rcmp after the nova scotia shootings debacle . i can almost guarantee that they will try to invoke the gladue principle and bring up multi-generational traumas from the residential school system . the canadian justice system is a bloody mess. the trial is going to be interesting to say the least . no way do the feds not try to poke their nose in here in some way. they just cant not do it .

Gladue principles are a way for the judge to consider the unique circumstances (experiences) of Indigenous peoples. These unique circumstances include the challenges of colonization you, your family, and community faced and resisted as Indigenous people, and continue to affect you today

What Gladue Means. Aboriginal peoples have legal rights under the Criminal Code of Canada called Gladue rights. These rights apply to Aboriginal peoples because of their special circumstances (experiences) in Canada. The word Gladue comes from a Supreme Court of Canada case about an Aboriginal woman named Jamie Gladue.
