I’m more worried about the Dos Santos pick. I made the mistake to bet with my heart. He did withstand Tai Tuavasa and Bigi Boi didn’t look good against Overeem, so we’ll see. I had to take the odds with Vera. He’s the best O’Malley has ever seen, by far, I don’t know if he’s as good as advertised but I suspect he is.

Nitpicking, but it's not even a couple of years, it will be three years by the time Stipe defends against someone else.

Since Couture won the title vs Maurice Smith in 1997 only 24 other men have actually competed for the full HW title in 23 years. And even this looks better than it is, because numerous title vacations get two fresh challengers in at once.

This tends to be the case across most divisions. Essentially a fresh challenger for a title averages out to basically being an annual event. Any golden periods where a champion turns over multiple challengers in quick succession are cancelled out by years of inactivity and rematches.
