Ultraviolet with Milla Jovovich.
I watched it once with zero expectation, and didn't think it was half bad.
Maybe it's my affinity for her, better watch it again.

Speaking of affinities for chicks, what about that one with Natalie Portman aka Novalee Nation.
Not bad...

Tremors. It's a known film, and you see it get some love every now and then but it doesn't really get the attention it deserves so I'm throwing it in here. Fast paced film with great characters, and it's a late 80's/early 90's "horror" movie that doesn't make you recoil due to laughably bad special effects so it's still very watchable today.

The Last Boy Scout. Again, you see this one get some love every now and then but I still consider it underrated. Early 90's action movie complete with explosions, violence and hilarious one liners. I rank this one up there with Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. And although her part was fairly brief, this film introduced me to Halle Berry - so bonus points for that.

Someone said Almost Famous

So I just watched it, and it was exactly as I thought. It was fine, missing it wouldn't have been a crime.
Billy Crudup, I just like him.
Francis Mcdormand was the best performer in the movie.

I'd say this movie is exactly where it needs to be.
Without an exceptional soundtrack it'd be mod squad level.

Rambo First Blood.
Very underrated action movie.

Many people think that action movies are a sub-genre when they are wrong; it takes skills and knowledge/craft to build an effective action movie.

Ted kotcheff, another underrated director, managed to use the BC forests to great effect. He used a documentary style of filmmaking by using real locations (forests, ugly lifeless boulevards, small towns...) to create the environment : a small town lost in the forests and unwelcoming.

Cast. Stallone nails it. We feel for that damaged Vietnam vet coming to a small town run by some fascist cops. Bryan Denehy is great in the role of the police chief. He's a great a-hole.

All in all an above average action movie.

One of the greatest. Even though i grew up a hardcore van damme fan, Stallone might be the greatest action stars of all time. I mean rocky and rambo alone are not just great action movies but fantastic films.

People may say it's not underrated, but it is.
Of course everyone knows this name, but this movie is great.
The most underrated parts are the drama and acting of Stallone, particularly the end with colonel Trautman.
The second one was all action and soundtrack(the equivalent of Metallica Black), 3 tanked, and 4 successfully brought back the initial human element that made First Blood great.

Powerful....
