Its not going to win any awards or anything, but its fun. I liked that they didnt rely on a lot of special effects. The main actress was pretty hot. Fun watch.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through it now.

If you go in looking for a "good" movie, you'll be disappointed. If you go in expecting a movie a 12-year old with a budget would make that was The Purge with werewolves, you'll have a great time.

And yeah, Katrina Law is definitely hot - I've liked her since she was in Arrow.

So it would seem. They’re keeping his appearance under wraps but by all accounts he’s horrific. Allegedly appropriately dressed as a nobleman from the Carpathians in the 1400s but also very obviously unmistakably dead, such that they say you can almost smell the rot. I can’t wait.

All of the early reviews on this focused on style and universally lauded it. Over the past week other reviews have started to surface that agree that stylistically it’s awesome, but lacks substance. At least one I’ve read even threw some shade on the title character’s design, stating “It’d be one thing if Skarsgaard’s version of Count Orlok was so undeniable it had to be seen. But the design was sadly disappointing.”

It was great - I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Like I said, it's not at all a "good" movie. But if you go in knowing what to expect, it's silly fun. And what vlad said about it not relying on special effects & being reminiscent of the 80s was spot on. If you go back & watch an 80s horror movie, a lot of the effects didn't age well...low rent physical effects rathern than CGI & such. This is the same.

That was part of the charm, IMO.

As an aside, Grillo is in insane shape for being 59.
