1917 isn't the best
It is however a great watch and a slice of the War Movie Pie
I have yet to see it yet, but I'm chomping at the bit to see 'come and see.
Apparently this film is hard to watch because of the graphic content, but a lot of reviews say the greatest war movie ever made. Look at the ratings on IMBD, you'll see a lot of 10s before you see a lower rating.
I review says "I found this film depressing and emotionally draining. I can't wait to watch it again."
It was released in 1985 and supposed to be remastered and rereleased this year.
I really need to see this.
Was a good watch eh.
Only bit I didn't like was when
the Germans seemed to get the letter as well and stopped shelling the front line for some reason
Its probably the only war film that doesn't glamorise it at all, even if a lot don't intend to war films always do to an extent.
Grim as fuck
Also OP you start this thread and haven't seen Apocalypse Now, what the fuck is wrong with you
good gawd that looks terrifying.
Can't wait to watch it.
No one mentioned Defiance, which is a cool flik.
Come and See
Anyone not saying Platoon is off their tits barmy.
Saving private ryan
Enemy at the gates
First half of full metal jacket
Legit first time I watched Platoon I was at my boss' house when his GF was cooking us breakfast hungover to all fuck crying into my tea like "how can you like this?". Watched it again, epic.
second half of full metal jacket for me
Animal mother for the win
Ooooh oo oooo I can say Inglorious Basterds, right?
naw that is just tarantino jerking off again
With Brad being bloody brilliant again
that movie was gold
It had its moments but Pitt was shit in it, I know he was supposed to be chewing the scenery but still.
Waltz stole the show
Give over. Waltz was definitely brilliant but Brad was fantastic as was Ei Roth
we were soldiers was basically the same thing as the Patriot and braveheart, entertaining movies. I don't know how they let us see all these movies in school. teachers gave zero fucks in the 90's.
To each their own, I didn't like him in it at all, was cringey as fuck, was probably the plan but it didn't work as far as I'm concerned.
both those movies sound great on a home theater system.
home of the brave is unintentionally funny from biel silly prosthetic hand to sam jacksons freakouts.
Are you misplacing cringe for tongue in cheek? Not having a pop, legit question.
