1917 isn't the best

It is however a great watch and a slice of the War Movie Pie

I have yet to see it yet, but I'm chomping at the bit to see 'come and see.
Apparently this film is hard to watch because of the graphic content, but a lot of reviews say the greatest war movie ever made. Look at the ratings on IMBD, you'll see a lot of 10s before you see a lower rating.
I review says "I found this film depressing and emotionally draining. I can't wait to watch it again."

It was released in 1985 and supposed to be remastered and rereleased this year.

I really need to see this.

Its probably the only war film that doesn't glamorise it at all, even if a lot don't intend to war films always do to an extent.

Grim as fuck

Lol.
I love that damn movie. So over the top. Historians were furious about it.

Mel Gibson still runs that flag across the battlefield wrecking that ass...and it's awesome.
we were soldiers was basically the same thing as the Patriot and braveheart, entertaining movies. I don't know how they let us see all these movies in school. teachers gave zero fucks in the 90's.

I liked that, still haven't seen 2.

Brothers also, although less war more at home.
For that matter, Home of The Brave with S.Jackson, J.Biehl, 50 cent etc., these 2 deal more with coming home.

I know people dislike Hurt Locker, but I fall asleep to it.
home of the brave is unintentionally funny from biel silly prosthetic hand to sam jacksons freakouts.
