Casing for the heat pump electrical & plumbing. This is essentially a view from clients dining room. They didn't want to be looking out at the spa to see the massive heat pump. This dealioView attachment 89646

I'm thinking about going with the Sig Sauer Buckmasters BDC SOBM43001 3-12x44mm. It looks like I can get it for around $100. I was checking out the Sig Whiskey 3 earlier at the store earlier today. Sig makes good shit. The Whiskey 3 is a 3-9x50mm for around $150. The Buckmasters seems like a better deal.I picked up 2 Primary Arms 3-18x50 FFP scopes (Primary Arms SLx 3-18x50mm FFP Rifle Scope - Illuminated ACSS APOLLO .308/6.5 Grendel Reticle) when they were on sale for $300 not too long ago. Finding the right mounts was more of a chore, but once mounted these should be good for fairly long range (farther than I will be shooting).
Are you going Hügelkultur with those, or just filling them up with potting soil mix? What is going on with the cross member on the left side that doesn't appear to connect to the other side? What is the purpose? Not talking shit, I am just scratching my head as to what it's for. I'd assume warping if it connected, but it doesn't.Acquired a bunch of pallets & sanded an old cedar fence & made 3 tree planter boxes.

If you don't mind a recommendation, place hardware cloth in the bottom before filling. Certainly provides a formidable barrier between your plants and burrowing creatures, but allows roots to grow wherever they want.I forgot to take those off pre-picture, good eye.
Originally those were slot footprints & were going on the bottom, but I changed my mind after seeing it worked out better flipped for extra bracing later.
I may do a video short because this was actually a super cool & easy on-the-fly build.
The 3rd one I built was excessive & will stand out, but I wanted a vertical board concept project.
I have 3 more tree boxes to build, and a few large planters, raised bed as well.
And yes, definitely more Hugelculture than anything.
I have 5 large oak trees, and mowed a ring barrier 3 weeks ago so the leaves wouldn't fly off in the wind. I'll do a bunch of branches, compost, leaves, but flip a topsoil square in the center. Also I found a beaver dredged up my pond, so I'm gonna try to steal that seaweed & mud, that should make a helluva base layer.
That's the second time in 24 hours someone recommended hardware cloth to me, but for a different project. If you don't mind a recommendation, place hardware cloth in the bottom before filling. The logs I'm mainly using are forest logs, a lotta mycelium and shiznit. One more suggestion is to soak the logs for a few days before placing them in the bottom.
The suggestion was simply to prevent moles, voles, or other animals that may burrow under and come up in the containers and destroy your crops. You can't control them from above. By the time you notice they are doing their damage, they are back under the ground, then they keep doing the same thing over and over. If you don't have them in your area, I get it, but if there is potential, it's insurance at a very low cost. That's the second time in 24 hours someone recommended hardware cloth to me, but for a different project.
Makes excellent sifters.
I don't think it's necessary in this particular project as it's just a single tree going in each box.
Oh I've got shit tons. The suggestion was simply to prevent moles, voles, or other animals that may burrow under and come up in the containers and destroy your crops. It won't stop termites, but it will stop anything bigger than the screen from getting withing the growing boxes (ie. burrowing rodents). A friend of mine has 4.5' tall boxes and he had no way of controlling the gopher/mole/vole...whatever it was from going raised container to raised container and destroying everything night by night. He tried tons of methods (even putting tons of bamboo BBQ skewers everywhere, lol), but nothing worked. It was actually hilarious to hear the play-by-play (because it didn't happen to me). Ultimately he ended up digging about 3' down in each container and installed hardware cloth and had no more issues.Oh I've got shit tons.
My grass looks like termite tunnels.

It is a multi-purpose material for sure.I use it for chicken coop purposes

Lol, yeah, they're moles & prarie dogs.It won't stop termites,
I get it, just understand that once the raised beds are filled and set, you're in fucksville if you have issues. Doing it prior to filling there will be zero issues.Lol, yeah, they're moles & prarie dogs.
I also have wood chucks and armadillos.
I have a roll of hardware cloth, bur I'm going to save it for raised garden beds in a couple months.
Unless there's info about these varmint chewing up trees.
I'm just on a budget.
My roll will only cover 1 or two raised beds.
