Smoked a couple chickens spatchcocked. 300 for 40 minutes, then bumped it up to 400 until theybwere in the 150 range, finished at 450. One side of the pit is obviously hotter than the other, but they finished 5 minutes apart, if that. Very similar weight.

6.5ish I think. They were both in the mid $13 range and I didn't check price but it's typically $1.99/lb...I think. Obviously backbone is removed, so they don't weigh that when cooked.
Nice, good info

I have 7 chickens and they are probably 2.9lbs to 4lbs but they are only for laying

Those meat birds grow quite big in only 4 months or so, crazy fast growth...the size difference is amazing

We're crazy fortunate to be able to eat a chicken dinner any time we choose, to the point where are enjoyment is cooking different ways.
Those look good.

Cut the breasticles into strips.

I did the seasoned flour(season all and cajun season), egg/half and half/hot sauce, then season flour again. Dunk, dunk, dunk.

I love frying it outside, especially when its nice and fresh. Its 70 degrees out here in TAYHAUS.

The sauce is just a homemade buffalo garlic sauce.

Very cool
Thanks for sharing

Homeade buffalo garlic sauce sounds interesting

We made like 10 types of fermented hot sauces with garden stuff late last summer, they are very good and super easy.

That weather sounds nice, it is 35 degrees and raining .75 inches per day with zero chance of sun until February here in Oregon. I don't have a covered grilling area, but I really should build one...frying inside is cool but shit gets wild sometimes

My wife got me a big ol air fryer for my birthday. Haven’t used it yet and am unsure about it lol
This was the first go.
May I suggest a strategy to "step outside the box"?

It would be, to be deliberately pick a food to try, pick a day, and not overthink it.

I say that because this sat in a box on the floor since summer.
I just used it again to reheat chicken legs rather than the microwave.
Never going back.

Reheating was the first thing I thought of and quick nuggets for my kids. I hate using a microwave. I’ve heard a few people say that wings are good in there.

Fuck waiting 30 mins for the oven to pre-heat. Reheated pizza in the air-fryer is worth it alone...

Airfryer, crockpot, griddle, cast iron.
These are a few of my fav-o-rite things.

I made banana pancakes for breakfast, and I will be making salmon salad for dinner. I also made overnight oats for breakfast tomorrow, and I prepped veggies for salads this week. I've already posted pics of all of that, so I'll spare you the details.

Anywho, for lunch this week I made beef & broccoli+ (I wanted more veggies) over cauliflower rice.
