I can't do chop sticks. I'm sure I could learn quite easily but the fact it's a gimmick and not at all practical hinders me. If I was ever stuck on a desert island and all I had as utensils was some chop sticks I'd just use my hands....
After learning to use them they’re great. You still need a knife for large meats (or scissors if you’re Korean) but that generally why you don’t find those sorts of things at asian restaurants.

I would rather use chopsticks than a fork for salad any day of the week and I actually keep some in my work lunchbag for that exact purpose.

That's why the long spoon asians put the bowl to their mouth and use the chop stick to push the rice from the bowl into their mouth. Looks very uncivilized.

Koreans don't use a knife because we don't traditionally eat large meats.

Phillipinos don't use chopsticks. They eat with their hand or a fork and that long chinese spoon.

Philippines doesn't use chopsticks so chopsticks isn't everywhere in Asia but they do use that darn long plastic chinese spoon that I dislike with a passion.

I prefer eating noodles with chopsticks, as always Thailand has it right. Fork and spoon, knife for steak.

I like hem for all soups and noodles but I find no shame in drinking from a bowl.
Is it frowned upon to put your hands behind your back when drinking out of the bowl? Im asking because that's how I roll and people become silent when I eat (I'm assuming out of awe of my manners).

Because you’re incapable of doing anything that requires coordination.....accept it as one of many shortcomings that you have or will find at some point in your life and you’ll be stronger for it

I’m sitting on the hood of the Subaru eating a Canadian Tire hotdog. “Ramble On” by Led Zepplin cranked.
The cops better get here soon because I’m about to cause a huge traffic accident, every heterosexual woman in town is slamming on their brakes to get a better look.

Do you live in Asia? Does chinese food look like this everywhere but Korea?
No, Australia...Chinese food from a normal neighbourhood takeaway here looks like this. Same in New Zealand except the servings are twice the size and half the price.

So my wife said she wanted “something light” from the Korean place for supper and she cane out with this.

I’m glad she didn’t want something heavy.

While we were eating she almost fell off her chair while reachng across the table for food and choked a bit on her food when she slipped. Now she’s laughing at herself so hard she’s crying.

Good times.
