Generation X (often shortened to Gen X) is the demographic cohort following the Baby Boomers and preceding Millennials. Researchers and popular media often use the mid-1960s as its starting birth years and the late 1970s as its ending birth years, with the generation being generally defined as people born from 1965 to 1980.[1][2][3][4][5] By this definition and U.S. Census data, there are 65.2 million Gen Xers[6] in the United States as of 2019.[7] Most of Generation X are the children of the Silent Generation and early Baby Boomers;[8][9] Xers are also often the parents of Millennials[8] and Generation Z.[10]

People went from having 4-6 kids (unplanned) in their teens and early 20s to spending 3-4 years trying to conceive in their late 30s early 40s (maybe even ivf) and finally squeezing one out.

They don't have spares lying around so they can't just let them roam and let the strongest survive.

Sad but it's a natural consequence of declining birth/fertility rates.

Out of all that stuff I have the most envy for that gorgeous gas can. You see, it actually worked as God intended.

Born in ‘59 I’m a Boomer but we had pretty much the same childhood, with death trap playground equipment, drinking from hoses, riding in the back of pickups, etc. Blew up a lot of shit with M-80s and cherry bombs. I didn’t have a multi-pump air rifle, which is probably good. Daisy 1894 was my prize possession.

I always remember the ramp would snap and you would eat shit into the bricks.

Which reminds me. My grandma was getting her house replastered. Me and my cousins took all the old boards onto the back garden and turned it into the ECW arena. I remember power bombing my little brother thru a plaster table and the bricks from the side fell inwards on him. Didn't get hurt but made us reconsider our makeshift construction methods

The mom's who served their kids a jar of koolaid for them and their friends were not seen as someone who cared or loved for their children and friends. They were seen as overtly obsessed parents. Total freaks and their kids were then seen this way, too. But damn, was that outdoor koolaid good, holmes.

We lived on a corner and had the community picnic table. Drank a lot of Kool-Aid and ate a lot of baloney samiches at that thing with neighbor kids who congregated at my house. Sometimes even had breakfast at it. Girl from across the street was lactose intolerant, only “food allergy” I knew existed until I was an adult, actually put Kool-Aid in her cereal.
