Hauler @Hauler how long are you planning on holding? We tossed some "change" at it so even if it crashes its not a big deal. That being said $100+ would be awesome
I will probably pull my original investment out like usual and let the house money shares ride.

But I will definitely be watching it closely.

I wonder if the SEC can have these redditors prosecuted for doing this. Reddit is not anonymous and they can probably get their identity easily. shit is hilarious though.
I thought the same thing, but now there is a legit betting strategy. Since I know the hedgefund short sellers need my shares, if I buy shares today and there is SOME hedgefund holding a good quantity of shorts, I know I've got a future buyer. So there is strategy here that would give cover.

I've started doing some trading. I get that "big money" is different to retail trading but it's simple money management to have a Stop Loss in place.

Also, I know nothing about hedge funds but I know a a bit about hedge betting/trading, where you profit on big moves in any direction. Hence the term "hedging your bets". Do hedge funds not operate the same way? If not, LOL.
They were heavily shorted, so their loss risk is literally unlimited.

Once the price gets higher than their entry level, they have to either exit the short (purchase shares at the current price) or add to their margin account. Think of the margin as collateral, which is usually 150% of current price.

If they don't have the cash to cover the margin call, they have to purchase the shares they shorted. And if they don't have the cash to do that they file bankruptcy and are done.

We are talking about billions and billions of dollars they've lost with this GME surge.

Haven't heard a peep on Fox Business about AMC being up 250% pre-market. They are still focused on GME.

Gonna be an interesting day.

Do you think they will freeze it?

I get that but when I trade, I use a stop loss, so if the market goes against my analysis, I'm clearly wrong and I minimise my losses. Doubling down on a lost trade is a proven error. Today I won 8 trades and lost 3. The 3 I lost are an acceptable part of my strategy and are at a level of risk I can tolerate. I won 8 at the same rate, so overall I'm up by 5.

You'd think that professionals in charge of billions of dollars would have some form of risk management.

Stock market scares me.
I never had the extra feel beyond the basics. There are people that are so adept that they can envision plays that are multiple levels deep and cover themselves. Like having excellent strategy in a game. yeah I understand the controls but I don't really understand how to effectively use them.

In fact I'm primarily only in the stock market because of the tax benefits we get from retirement accounts that are invested in the stock market. So it makes sense to fill up the retirement account.

But the more I learn and see stuff like this going on, The more I wish my retirement account could be in a market of hard assets I better understood and can control.

They have circuit breakers already built in to pause trading during too much volatility. GME was being halted 5 or 6 times a day during it's run.

It hit a halt for dropping too much at one point, then as soon as it opened back up it immediately hit another circuit breaker for going up too much.

Insane.

You would figure it out pretty quickly if you threw yourself into it. I was the same, no clue at all, the idea of investing in something I don't understand seemed absurd. However, I've been studying and practising for 4 months solidly, and I'm now profitable. I just follow the maths. Using compounding, you can build a LOT of money relatively quickly if you can make it work. Like double your money every year quick, which compounds up fast.

@Splinty? Is TMMAC a publicly traded company?

I’m thinking of buying a shitload of TMMAC stock, then start posting my nudes. I’ll sit back and watch the profits roll in as the forum shows exponential growth due to new Hot Chick members.

So you can get your beak wet too, I’ll give you a 15 minute heads up before I post new content.
