so was i. i didn't see dc beating him, at all. he must have done no grappling, or very little. he wasn't prepared for the opponent change. looks like he stuck to training for jones.I was wrong.

Yeah, he wasn't at all prepared for what would happen if he couldn't get off his back. I couldn't tell if AJ hadn't grappled enough or simply can't handle DC in particular.
Jones was stripped. This was for the real belt, not an interim.
I also do not believe we will see Jones fight for quite some time. I would be surprised if he fights within the next 24 months. By the time he does come back, he will no longer be as revered as he was.

AJ has never been a good ground fighter. I'll never forget Josh Koscheck taking his back and choking him out. I am surprised most of you weren't expecting AJ to get dominated in the grappling against someone of DC's caliber. To me, this was DC's fight from the second it was announced, and only a flush strike to the head would have any chance of changing that - and it actually happened, and it didn't change a thing.
