I view Perry like I do someone like Eminem. Been friends with black dudes all of his life, hangs with them daily, trains with them, doesn’t see skin color. The word is a term of endearment, like calling someone ya boy. I’ll go one step further...i bet a black dude is filming him in this video.
He may not be a racist but he is a dummy when it comes to choosing his words and I don't care that he grew up in the hood, being a white guy saying "nigga nigga etc" is just stupid. He's cheesy and he thinks it gives him cred with the thug crowd, racist, no, but lame, absolutely.

Eminem on his first few records had some wording like that, but if you listen to Eminem talk the last 10 years in interviews, he talks nothing like MIke Perry, matter of fact Eminem sounds like a scholor whem compared to how Mike Perry talks. Even if Emimenm had a brief period when he was 22 or whatever, when you listen to him talk last decade basically even he sees it dumb as fuck to be a white guy talking like that.

Well look at the context and the thread I am responding too, trying to portray my point. It's subjective, but I think it's not a good look. I don't think Mike Perry is racist, or even close to it. I don't blame Mike Perry for having some racist guy in his corner, remember the first fight he had in the UFC, against Hyun Gun Lim, his corner said something racist as fuck. So I don't put what his corner says on mike Perry.
Perry is not a racist, but talking like that, it's just not a good look for a grown adult white guy. Surely you can agree on that
Also, if you listen to Mclemore and Logic, to current famous white rappers, talk in interviews. They do not talk at all like the way Mike Perry is, and we are talking guy in the industry. That "hey Im white but I will act and talk totally black and say black offensive words" ship has sailed a while ago.
Logic and Mclemore are able to rap and give interviews without having to resort to that. You can be non black and love hip hop and not have to talk that way and stoop to that level.

Good point. That's why I say I'm 50/50 on it and its best either left unsaid or kept
between that persons own circle of friends that are cool with it.
Some black people are cool with it in certain circumstances and some are not.
The problem arises when the person saying it doesn't acknowledge that just because
one of his black buddies is cool with it doesn't mean that some other black person
aint tryna hear that shit.
I grew up saying it and probably say it everyday but there are certain black people
I know don't even like to hear it from other black people so I give them that
respect and don't use it around them.
My dad for instance... You can't say that shit around him under any circumstance.

I agree with you. I think you know what I am saying, but your perspective is an intelligent one. I myself feel an interesting perspective. I am not known as white or black, my parents of from Iran. More than that, my Mom is from the north part, my Mom and her side of the family look white, and like they would be German or Italian or some kind of European background. My father on the contrast is from Shiraz, where the ancient Persian capital of Persepolis was, complete different climate from the north and the people there are significantly darker. My Dad in particular is in skin tone and features get's mistaken as black by some people. I came out with features from both but much more tanned in tone like my Dad, thought not as much as him. Right or wrong I always felt a unique perspective on the entire talk.
I also love to listen when feel someone is on to something, I think you are.
Thread makes me remember a Vutu story, the aborigines said he wasn't black, but purple.

I actually was able to go to Iran about 12 years ago. Went with my Mom, for 2 months. I was in between jobs and timing was right. I went to 3 or 4 cities and saw relatives in each. My father's side came from Shiraz which is where Persepolis sits, and I visited the actual place and not only was I enjoying the amazing work done in these ancient times and the detail, looks like it was carved with lasers in stone, I also felt a tangible different powerful kind of energy that was different and special. It seems like I was somehow tapping into some kind of deep instinct and feeling of just somehow knowing the magic of the place. Even with most of it tore down and crumbled, with what is there, it's so easy to imagine what it looks like all filled up and in tact like in those times.
If you ever see it in person, you will see what I am talking about. Something special was going on, that shit was so perfectly put together.
They have these amazing mountain restuarants, that serve mouth watering Persian food, all kinds of Kabobs and many many other foods.
