It's a delicate balance. Vince is stubborn as shit, but he also has to make decisions to please his shareholders. They've been doing this whole PG era thing for so long because it's making them a ton of cash. John Cena sells shit loads of merchandise and Vince is afraid that if someone else takes his spot at the top, they'll lose out financially.
Having Kane and Big Show eliminate all the fan favorites at the end of this years Royal Rumble was the biggest slap in the face towards the fans. We're dying for something new and fresh after suffering through LOLCENAWINS for the past however many years and that's what we get.
Basically, CM Punk was dead on the money when he said Vince is out of touch. He thinks we'll eat up anything he books, but fans are getting tired of it. A good number of people cancelled their WWE Network subscription after the Royal Rumble to make a point. And considering the way Wrestlemania was booked, I'm thinking they heard the message loud and clear.
Not to mention the fact that Lesnar got busted open tonight and they didn't scramble the trainers to stop the bleeding. More signs that the PG era is done for and we can all start looking forward to the HHH era.
