I love the what culture videos.

This one is very informative as to why Reigns is a really bad choice whether people like him or not

Do you mean Vince said for that to happen out of spite to Shane's pop?
No, that HHH invoked his power a little and did it himself or somehow convinced him, I haven't read the languag ewas just reading it second hand.

The beat down made little sense as it was getting the wrong reaction

Steph/HHH and Shane do not see eye to eye on a ton of shit and is part of why Shane left.

This quasi-feud setup is part life imitating art with that family. They'll do best for business but Shane ran his staff like a new age "buddy boss" and wanted to do a ton of stuff that all got shot down by Vince with Steph and HHH's advice. Steph and Vince run a more typical fear tyrannical boss scenario.

It would have been very interesting to have seen Shane operate the UFC had Vince bought it.

The greatest thing that could happen to Wrestling is a billionaire with a broadcaster backing putting Shane in charge of his own legit competitor company. Obviously this would mean him being disowned by Vince completely, which is not realistic even he was pushed out of control by Steph and HHH being anointed as the next controlling interest, but Wrestlers would choose Shane if the pay is similar and Shane is not afraid to adapt and change in business.

I honestly think HHH is good for the future of the company, but I think Vince needs to go away, and that Steph needs to let her husband where the pants.

I think HHH is a fine successor on one hand and in another I worry his ego isn't a problem in the end on the highest level and that if the WWE doesn't have viable competition, they won't feel the need to change as hard as they really should even with those two moving in.

Steph is new blood but at the same time she is more like her father than people may be willing to admit.

I hope someday we see it again. It really wouldn't be hard to accomplish, just need someone who'll give them airtime. Airtime on a station people watch.

Yeah the opportunity is for someone with a real financial backing to market "Wrestling" first and foremost again. The WWE have done the most damage to their own product by treating the work as a dirty word and rebranding everything as "Sports Entertainment" entities.

Superstars
WWE Universe
Divas

Etc.

You literally get fined and forced to apologize (check out the whatculture 10 things... about Shane video) for referring to the product as wrestlers and wrestling there now. It has conditioned a new generation of fans that they are watching Drama with a shameful core to it.

That needs to be countered with much more tradition "Territory" or "Cornette" style booking and match psychology and not just spot wrestling as the only actual work they note on the broadcast. That would be a great competitor product to rebuilt the actual sport. They need to make a wrestling promotion where people genuinely don't know who will win belts most of the time and see a lot of guys as equally worthy to wear it not let someone "Hogan" the product into submission. They need to protect finishers again and have a lot of just night of shock moments that make the matches important and put the promos backstage like it used to be.

So what you're saying is someone should mass market NXT?

Well NXT isn't the only one that tries that but they don't protect finishers there like they should either. I find they get alot right but you are still cognizant that this is a tolerated kindergarten for the big show and wouldn't continue without that association.

NXT is the "Experiment" of old wrestling that if it's britches got too big Vince would stomp it dead immediately. It isn't entirely purely what I mean but it is the WWE minor league version of it where they will still insist people like Eva Marie and Corbin and others that don't fit there or in Wrestling overall really be included.

So yes and no, you need what NXT is doing with the authenticity of ROH and Japan and not the "Minor Leagues" treatment.

You also need some new ideas that wrestling has never tried and I wouldn't begin to speculate on them because I am not a business man.

Something that happened recently is part of the mentality that has to occur for a competitor on a large scale.

HHH went to Lucha Underground and proposed a talent loaning system, they outright refused as they should have, in the face of an incredibly tempting offer that could benefit someone's pockets at the detriment of their product and brand.

I heard about that. I feel bad the way New Japan has been picked over recently. I get why it happens, but God the WWE's best current talent is all stuff they bought out of Japan.

Not right now. Mrs Beard isn't a huge rasslin' fan. I'll try to tune in, in a bit though. If not I'll catch a replay. Feel free to make up a HOF thread, I'll keep you company. :)

I'm good thanks. I've got it on my cable package. We're catching up on one of the few shows we watch together so having HOF in the background wouldn't be super helpful.

Nxt Dallas was great. The Hall of Fame was great. So it leads me to believe that tonight will be great fellas.

I know Sting Retired. But I hope to God he interferes with Takers match. That or Demon Kane comes out and takes out Taker. Would love to see Taker vs Kane feud one last time.

Sting's speech really was great. "I'm officially retired, but this is see ya later, not goodbye"

You could see the respect on hunters face for sting.

It's so stupid for Steph and Hunter to be so loved and respected everywhere except on Raw. They can't be true villains. They need to go full force pushing old Pat Patterson off the stage. Or just be the good guys and have Roman go all Bezerker on them. Just my .02cents

It's funny because I really think everyone loves Hunter, and the direction he wants to take the company. But he plays the character because Vince still thinks it's 1996.
