UFC 223 is under four weeks away and according to Khabib Nurmagomedov, there’s going to be a shift of power in the UFC 155-pounds division.
The Russian will face Tony Ferguson on April 7 and the UFC lightweight title is said to be on the line with Conor McGregor supposedly being stripped of the title as soon as the first punch is thrown.
Speaking to Kevin Iole this past weekend, Nurmagomedov dismissed McGregor’s recent shot at him on Twitter and he suggested that when he claims the UFC title at UFC 223, the Irishman will have to beg him for a shot at the gold.
“Sometimes, you have to laugh,” Nurmagomedov said.
“He had the chance to slap me and he didn’t. He had the chance before the weigh-in at [UFC] 205 and he didn’t, why? UFC 205, what happened?
“Why didn’t he slap me? Why? He could do this, but he didn’t do this.”
